the BEST hairdressers I have EVER had in my LIFE were ladies formerly of Toni & Guy!! They left to start their own shop in Scottsdale, AZ. I went to them for 8 years...
At Toni & Guy in AZ, they had different people doing different things (ie someone to do chemical treatments and someone to do haircuts and styling.) The stylist I had was black, so I think that made a difference. The chemical treatment lady (relaxer, perm, color) was hispanic, but she could LAY a relaxer and some color like NOBODY's business. My stylist's clientale, though, was about 65% caucasian, 35% AA/hispanic. She gave the best haircuts I have ever had. I was in and out of the salon with a relaxer, cut and semi-permanent color in like 1.5 hours!!! My hair was SO fly!! Ima bout to shed a tear right now missing them since I moved to TX 3 years ago. I haven't found anyone to compare, which started me on my DIY path and LHCF...anyway, I digress...
The stylists are very knowledgeable and well-trained. Just bc of the experience I had with my ladies in AZ, I would definitely try a Toni & Guy salon if they had a person of color working up in there...otherwise, not so sure...
