I was suppose to do my BC on Aug 22 @ a salon but today I decided that I want to do it today after i took my braids out!! and i want to do it myself!! so does anyone have any advice for me before i do this? like should it be on washed hair or dry hair? and is there a certain method that would be best?? thanks!!!

Congrats on your decision to BC! Definitely cut while your hair is wet. Some people put lots of conditioner on their hair while it is wet so that they can comb through the hair better. For me, I co-washed my hair then grabbed the straight pieces then cut them off. I would recommend combing through wet hair then cutting the straight pieces. You will be able to see the straight pieces better. I hope that this helps a little.

when i did my own BC, i wet my hair so i could tell the difference between the coily new growth and wavy relaxed hair by feel... that way i could cut the hair at the back and crown of my head by feel. :yep: although SO still had to help me shape it afterwards and for the next few weeks i was snipping here and there to get all the relaxed ends/scab hair off.

i can't wait for the pics!

CO-signing! Good luck! I did my major and mini chops myself as well as the trimming -including the back. It can be done...GO SLOW OR GET HELP IF YOU NEED TO THOUGH!
