Jesus, I Trust In You!
I am a proponent of self-relaxing as mentioned by umsummayah in the link provided by Karezone in the self-relaxing thread but I called up my hairdresser because I have more than 6months worth of new growth which I thought I couldn't handle on my own.
The thread got me thinking about going back to my old ways and doing it myself but I don't know how to call her and cancel the appointment.
What should I do?
P.s
I want to cancel without telling any lies

Wow 6 months without a relaxer!! You my Shero

. But seriously though, if you trust her and she's good then I would go ahead and let her do it. Cause I know you must have a whole lotta new growth

Thanks Armygt. I do trust her, just scared. My hair that was fine before I decided to go ahead with the touch up has started to itch like crazy and I suspect that it is psychological.
Does anyone know what to do to ease the itch aside from slapping my head repeatedly to keep from scratching

How about those sprays that are for braids? Aren't they supposed to stop the itching?

It's all in your head, I do the same thing

This may be crazy but what do ya'll think? I have ezcema or atopic dermatitis (in other words I get these rash flareups every couple of years.) I am using an over the counter non-drowzy antihistimine to stop the ichies. If you are severely iching, maybe an antihistimine would help. Just a thought.

P.S., I am still refining my touch up skills, so I personnally would go to the trusted stylist to do my six month touch up. But if you have the skills . . . I would just say, "Hey girl, I need to cancel my appointment for Wednesday, I'll call back to reschedule," and leave it at that.

Hi Perfectpeace,
I know it isn't ezcema or any dermatitis related problem. I usually just get the itches when I contemplate touching up but with the scratching of the itches comes relaxer burns.
I'll try to occupy my mind with other things.
Thanks ladies for the replies
