Tiny broken hairs - Need more moisture or protein?

I just got done washing my hair and as I looked in the tub while rinsing, I saw little broken hairs (about a centimeter) going down the drain. It wasn't much...maybe like 10 to 15 but its still a concern. I don't use heat, so its not that. Could it be either too much protein or moisture? Thanks.

What's your regimen? Do you do any special treatments? What's their frequency? That could help us give you better answers.

Yes, this will help us give you a better answer. It could be due to either mositure or protein, so knowing your regimen will help in determining what could be the cause.

Welp...about a week and a half to two weeks ago I did an ApHogee treatment. I co-wash my hair once to twice a week, and either wrap or rollerset my hair and let it air dry. I also oil my hair about every other day and sleep with a scarf at night (I don't wrap it though, just tuck behind my ears and slap the scarf on). :look: Maybe its the weather and I need more moisture?
