Are you applying to your scalp?
This may sound weird but I try not to let my conditioners touch my scalp for more than a few minutes (cowashing). If the directions say anything more than 3-5 minutes, I try to apply the conditioner about 2 inches away from my skin.
If I dc overnight, I'll make 4 bantu type knots with the hair to try and keep the contact w/skin to a minimum.

No, I've never felt any tingling. Do you wash your scalp vigourously? Maybe your scalp feels a bit 'raw' after the wash and the DC then tingles?
