Time to keep conditioners in

Just wondering how long you usually keep conditioners in your hair when you do not sit under a dryer. I am specifically referring to moisturizing conditioners.

It depends on what the instructions say. Then again I do not always follow instructions. I just did my hair (I was sooooooo lazy) but I was determined to not to go to church tomorrow without a fresh head of bouncy hair! I used two conditioners one for 2 mins. rinsed it out and then left the moisturizing one in for 5 min. I really noticed how much softer my hair felt after I used the latter.

HTH

I usually leave conditioners on for at least 30 mins (especially without heat!) It has really helped my hair tremendously as a result. I know that Nexxus has a great reconstructor called Emergencee. It's for damaged hair, but I still use it every other week just to strenthen it. I have color in my hair also, so I have to make sure I stay on top of conditioning every week. I've started washing my hair twice a week now.

When I'm not in braids, I'll do a c/o wash in the shower and let it sit for about five-ten minutes and then I'll put some cholesterol in when I get out, put on a plastic cap and leave it in for about an hour or so, depending on how long I'm reading, etc. I'm addicted to conditioner. Gosh, I want to take these braids out.

If I'm doing my hair before work, I leave my conditioner in for about 5 minutes or so. If I'm doing my hair any other time, I leave my conditioner in for about 20 minutes or so.

How long I leave them in depends on my mood, mostly, and how much time I have. It can vary from 10 minutes to one hour, depending on whether I get caught up doing something else in between washing my hair. Instructions play a part sometimes, too: I usually leave my Soft and Beautiful Hair Moisturizing Complex (a new find, which I love) on for the maximum 5 minutes suggested; with other most other conditioners, though, anything goes.

Now we're talking about conditioners, can anyone please tell me once and for all whether cholesterol conditioners are moisturising conditioners? I've been wondering about this. For some reason, when I hear 'cholesterol', I think of protein, even though the effect on my hair is moisturising.

I usually leave mine in for about an hour minimum sometimes I can go for up to 5 hours. I get so busy doing other things around the house that I just forget, plus when the droplets start swiching around in the plastic cap when I bend down then I know it's taken to the best of its ability from my body heat before washing out. I sometimes also work out with my shower cap & conditioner on to speed up the process. It works better without heat IMO

Serena,

Soft and Beautiful Hair Moisturizing Complex has also been a great conditioner for me too! I have been using this about three years.

Have you tried the shampoo? I have never tried it.

I leave mine in 20-30 minutes for deep condition. Instant conditioners, I leave in only for an instant.
