i've been to Aabies maybe a year ago. the one on Eastway Dr. NEVER AGAIN. they do braid tight and they aren't all that neat. I experienced the same thing. I was at the door 8am in the morning when the doors opened and maybe like 6 girls was at the door with me. when she let us in, the owner had the nerve to tell us that she opens at 8 but the braiders come in when they can. braiders didn't show up til like 10am. man i was so mad. needless to say, that was the last time i ever got micros. and the last time i ever will... thats some bull ish

I will not step foot into an african braiding shop. At Adam & Eve in Baltimore, I almost got into a physical altercation with the owner. The girls working on my head were breading so tight I saw stars and my whole body started tremble. I asked them to ease up and they started muttering in their own language. Then one of them hat the nerve to say, well if it wasn't so nappy we wouldn't have to pull so hard to make it look decent. At this point I asked them to let go of my hair and get the owner. It was a pay up front shop. He said he would give me a refund but they would cut off the braids already done. He came at my head with the scissors and I grabbed the pair of the braider's lap. I told him I would use them in self defense if I was further assaulted in his establishment. thank god I paid by credit card. I called the bank, they called the shop. To make a long story short I got every cent back. I pay extra to have my hairdresser bring her braider in and do my hair and I never regret it. I also let them take them down. The whole process is always longer than at the African shops and leaves me even lighter in the pocket but at least I have my hair.

I'm on vacation and I decided to go to an african shop while here, the service was great, price very very high compared to down south, and the braids are really tight but not the tightest i've ever had. I usually do some extra scalp greasing for 3-4 days and they lossen up fast with no hairline breakage. Plus she said they would last around 3-4 months which is great for the high cost.
