I started almost 3 months ago, I think I have 1 inch of new growth but it feels like a whole new head of hair. So much attention is needed! God forbid I miss a day to call attention to it or I will be sitting in my good chair for 2 hours at least trying to loosen the new curls out. Does anyone any tips on how to keep this to a minimum? I've been hearing about this pudding by Jessie (I think that is her name), I'm not too clear on what it does but I have the idea it will make the curls softer and more manageable. Has anyone had any experience with that?

Thank you so much in advance!!

I'm 3 months as well with about 1.5 inches of new growth. I used to be natural for almost 3 years before relaxing. I've been relaxed for about 9 months. Now my new growth feels so different from i was natural. I'm in love with it but I can tell that this ride is going to be filled with lots of excitement but time consuming. I haven't tried the Miss Jessie pudding. I know i want to try the Hairveda line of products.

What all are you doing for the 2 hrs? Do you co wash often? Detangle during the week?

Best of luck on your transition & happy hair growing and hopefully these wonderful ladies will answer the question in regards to the Miss Jessie pudding. Also try doing a search those are always helpful

I transitioned last year and it was absolute torture. The good news is one day it'll be all over. I think I drove myself nuts the first 6 months. It was almost like giving up cigarettes or something. Not because I was a "fiend" but it was so tempting to STOP all those horrible bad hair days.. bad hair months is more like it LOL Once I did the BC and took care of my hair everything was just great after that.

Good luck with your transition!!! There are many inspirational stories on this site and Fotki. Just hang in there and it'll be over before you know it! :drunk:

Try uping the moisture. Cowash, a good moisturizing DC, and a good daily moisturize. I mix aloevera juice with glycerine and a little castor oil and that works for me.

I really don't know how I'm going to do it. I have to get my mind set to embrace the naps. I haven't even told my husband. I eluded around the fact that we are in a recession and I can't afford a relaxer. He thinks a relaxer is the best invention for black woman soooo- I really don't know how I'm going to do it. I know I'm going to need support.
