I don't mean to waste anyone's time. This isn't an informative thread...BUT...

For those of you who mix and make your own concoctions, do you tend to value them more than premixed store bought stuff? My busy body 4 year old was in the bathroom and I heard this squirt bottle sound. I go in there and to my horror:blush: he was spraying my glycerin/aloe/orange blossom water moisturizer in the sink. I screamed like it was pure gold he was wasting. I grabbed the bottle and sternly told him NEVER touch my hair stuff, NEVER! Then I thought, "bottle of glycerin cost $3.49, bottle of aloe cost $3,29, orange blossom water $2.19. Hmmmm... to mix this 4 oz spray bottle probably cost me $1.29 to make considering I used a fraction of each substance..." I thought to myself, am I going hair crazy for real? Are my friends right?:lachen:

I dont think you going crazy. I woulnt want him to do that either lol but you were right to tell him not to play with your hair products:lachen:

Girl. Yes.

I have two containers of Carrot Oil - one still has the carrot oil, the other has a homemade mixture. I nearly FELL OUT when I walk in the bathroom and see DH just BUSILY rubbing something in his hair out of one of those tubs - he doesn't realize how narrow that miss was, because I managed to keep my mouth shut til I saw he was using the leftover Carrot Oil..... which I was trying to get rid of, anyway.

:lachen: It's not even about the price, man, it's just - nawh. You don't mess with the Mixtresses Creations, I'm just saying.

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

sorry but your story is funny - hold up :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

ok :lachen::lachen::lachen:

i hear ya (my hubby does that to my spritz:clubu: then when i ask him about it he's like :scratchch:think::wasntme::imsorry:)

that's hilarious:lachen:
it's not just u!
i look at my mom sideways when she tries to use my products
now she needs serious help w/ her hair but she's stubborn
so i don't want her wasting my products
since she doesn't value them!

You are going crazy but join the club. I'm mad my mom's be trying to use my Avocado oil as a body moisturizer, as small as my bottle is. I stay recouping my stuff from her bathroom. My stuff is Gold to me!

HAHAHAAAA! I ain't mad at you! Don't touch my stuff little man! :lachen:

:shocked: I walked in the bathroom to see my 16 year old son using my shower comb to pick out his dirty afro!

Oh Hecks Naw!!! I promptly reached into my stash and pulled out a new comb for myself and told him he could keep the old one.

WHEW! I thought I was acting crazy. I know my 4 year old was like,"why is she tripping, it's just water in a bottle." I'm also a little paranoid to leave my sister at my house. It's spring break so she's keeping my little one and hers at my house while she works online(lucky girl, her work can be done online!). I can't help but wonder if she's "testing" my stuff!

Ha ha! Funny! I know my now 19 year old son has teased me about my hair and hair products. One time I walked in the bathroom and could smell my leave in conditioner. His behind had been spraying it on his mini fro. When I confronted him he told me that he wanted me to mix him some up too. :grin:

:lachen:You ladies are funny! I would have been upset too. I found out my MN mix is worth gold as well. DH used it for a few days because he had itchy scalp (he remembered that I put Sulfur8 in it so he thought my mix was for that purpose). He cut his hair in the bathroom yesterday, he called my name. When I went in to see what he wanted, he says " Look how fast my hair grew". I asked him what he used on it, he says "your homemade hair grease".:look: I couldn't get mad at him though. I explained to him that this mix is my own growth mix, not for his itchy scalp.

I offered to make his own special scalp oil so he can leave mine alone.:grin:

i don't make much of my own stuff anymore, but i've caught my 2-year-old son trying to squirt my products before. i was super-pissed once because it was the stuff i use on HIS hair... how dare he waste my SAA and WGO after i was nice enough to put it in his shampoo+conditioner mix! :lachen:

I needed a laugth today. My husband, who is white, showed great interest in my kitchen concoctions and was inquisitive. I sensed that some of my stuff would go either "missing" or be used so I jumped the gun --I made my husband his own stuff and I label them appropriately. My son has no interest whatsoever in hair care.

Thanks for sharing your delightful story Naturalgurl.

OMG! I still live at home :yep: and every time I turn around they up in my stuff! And they have to be using my good stuff too! I can smell my stuff a mile away! Keracare humecto, Jane Carter's nourish and shine, my coconut oil!!!

UGHH!!! But I love my fam, I just have to remind them, "that snot what your hair needs..." than direct them to my throw away/ cheap easily replaceable stuff.

:lol: You are not alone!
Since I started taking care of my hair, I have way more products in my home than my sisters. When one of them comes over and goes in the bathroom to mess with her hair, I know she'll use one of my products. I walk in the bathroom and watch her like a HAWK. I watch what she uses and exactly how much. I watched her pouring one of my less fav oil moisturizers into her hand one day and I was like "Okay (still pouring), OkAY (still pouring), OKAY(Im way louder), That's good! That's enough!":eek: :freakout: :nono2: She stopped.

Then she told me to "Shut Up and get out!" And I told her to "Go home, Get Out!" like Carl Winslow tells Steve Urkel. She laughed and I laughed. We're sisters and best friends. They know Im hair crazy.

Now I'll really lose my mind if they use my fav moisturizer and sealants.:axehunter:

Totally understand and can certainly relate!! Hair care/hair products has become a serious addiction for many of us.
