Can someone please tell me...... what is a blow out?:perplexed.....and how it's different from blowdrying?:spinning:

Thanks ladies

-Totally clueless

it is a hair straightening process usually done at dominican salons. they will wash the hair (and sometimes rollerset it first). then using a REALLY HOT blow dryer and a round bristle brush, they proceed to brush and blowdry the hair straight. it gets very straight with a nice bounce and volume and a bump at the end. it will even get natural hair straight. the look lasts about 1-2 weeks if taken care of and wrapped. it looks lovely but the heat and brushing can take a toll on the hair if done too frequently. i did mine like ever 2-3 weeks for years. i recently stopped because i am transitioning and am afraid of anything that can cause a setback

You know what...I didn't know what the whole "Dominican blowout" buzz was about. But from your description I realized that that's exactly what my stylist does! She is Carribbean but works at a national chain salon. She was the first person to ever use a round brush on my head. I was hooked. The heat IS intense, but she makes my hair shine like glass.
