I want this in black!!! whoo thats pretty! can u take the stocking off @ night? what do you do to your hair while its in the plastic cap? maybe some cornrows... I really like this! Imma about to ask my stylist for this!

Yes your stylist can do it where it comes off if she uses a plastic shower cap over your hair then a weave cap (for the elastic band)

and a stocking cap on top of that. When I do mine I wrap my hair, but with hers, I braid her hair underneath.

Y'all are trippin' on this? This is typical in Houston, New Orleans, Detroit, New York, etc., etc., You've never seen women with super-loud, highly colored, stop-traffic hair? Skin color doesn't matter, super dark or extremely light, bad taste is bad taste. There are very few people who could rock this color and look even a little bit natural.

Wow, you all must live in pretty mundane cities. There is nothing shocking to me about this. Sometimes you'll see this with some flame-throwing red mixed in for good measure...how's that?

Peppers, great job on styling. You know your stuff. Give 'em what they want, sis, give 'em what they want.

To be straight honest, I'm grew up in the hood, so styles like this are the norm in Dallas. I don't like throwing the word hoodrat and ghetto around cause they have to live with their actions, attitude, appearance, etc. If they like it, I love it. These styles are modest to the ones I'm use to seeing (like for real no over exaggeration). I see rainbow do's, mohawks, and platinum blond down to the butt! This is nothing. LHCF is moreso natural styles, healthy hair, and growth. They want the style right now without the care and extra flamboyant.

So I did my best to recolor the hair and show it in a darker color. So here it is:

Wait... you MADE that?!

Wow.

Go head witcha bad self!

I wish it was a deeper caramel to highlight your goldenchocolate looking skin.

Oh no sweetie that's not me, but I do one for myself that I wear when I don"t feel like doing my own hair. This is inspired by Halle Berry in Swordfish:

Girl, it looks great. As a stylist who has experienced the whole 27 piece process you have mad skills and patience. Did you actually use just one pack? I always find myself needing more. How much do you charge for that style and how long does it take you to do it?

I have done a few in my time but I don't care for them. They seem to take too long for my taste.

Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks a bunch! I used one bag of the 27pc. and another bag for the longer side that was wavy. What helps me to stretch hair is to split the tracks (cut the track with a razor down to seam to have 2 separate tracks). It took me about 2 hours to do it. I think it took so long because I just was not feeling the way that wavy hair was looking on the other side. So I had to straighten and curl it with the flat iron. I usually charge $40, but I only charged her $30 because she's a good friend.

GREAT JOB! she was dead wrong for the color, but the cut/style is so cute! If it were jet black, she would be on point! I love it when we discover hairstylists on this board. It means that they are excited about hair.... as all hairstylists should be! good job lady!

Oh, ok. You do have patience if you are splitting tracks! Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work!

I think you hooked her up Peppers. Im not liking the color either but it's not my head and she seems pleased.

Girl if I were in Houston I'd get you to hook a sista up! I love Love LOVE your technique. It looks good and natural to me. Neither style is screaming wig or weave to me.

Slightly OT: Even if the color isn't what many of us would choose, why be mean about it??? None of you KNOW her. How many of you would be ready to set it off if someone said something about your grass, hurr, hair, weave, wig, etc. Come on now.... in the spirit of sister hood..... Say you don't like it and keep it moving. Why insult this woman? Is it really that serious? :look: I digress...

Pep you did an excellent job.

It is so funny to me how people can't handle the true honest opinions of others. If you express how you really feel, you are now the bad one. :spinning:

I'm just wondering if some of the people saying this style looks "hoodrat-ish" are probably Mary J Blige stans. I'm sure some of y'all would get crunk if someone were to say the same about Mary.:look:

Um, don't like it on her either. I personally don't like the term 'hoodrat', but I can see why some would lean towards using it.

Good job OP! You gave the client exactly what she wanted, which is what matters the most.

OP, I'd be getting so many installs from you if I lived in the area! I would never touch my hair. You can style!

I would go with things for my taste and I'd be SET! At that price too! And my hair down my back in now time; I'd hardly ever bother it but to wash it and braid it up... Shooooooooot...

I'm almost mad now. :lachen:

I like how it turned out! But seriously I think the color is a bit over the top:drunk: especially for her skin tone, but as long as she loves it so do I... lol:lachen:

You did a good job for this being your first 27piece!:yep::drunk::yep:

People shouldn't take ,too personally, other's opinions. But just to intervene a bit, she's not a hoodrat. I asked opinions about the hair style, not opinions on what type of person she appears to be. She's old skool, and has been wearing blond probably before most of you were born. According to her, she's been dyeing her hair that color blond since the 70's. Many Black women during that time dyed their hair blond, or maybe just some of the ones I've spoken to. Saying someone looks like a hoodrat or any other negative term without actually knowing them, is judging, regardless of it being opinion. So I just felt the need to clear it up since she's a friend of mine, and some remarks were unfair regarding her looks. I know most women don't like blond weaves on here, but I expected that before posting. So with that being said, let's shut that other stuff down, and continue with our journies to healthy and beautiful hair.

Oh, off topic really quick, I am sooooo excited. I've been taking the trio package
RenuHerbsDetoxTrioPackage.jpg
from renu herbs (Robin Anthony) for about two weeks now, and I've lost 8 lbs the right way (whoo hooo). Just wanted to share my great news for the day.

Great job Peppers! Your client's hair looks nice! I never knew there was such a thing as a 27 pc...almost reminds me of a quick weave...cap with glued tracks on it. I might have to try this one day since the pieces are pre-cut. It will save me a lot of time in cutting.

I am in Houston and never heard of a 27 piece...do ya thang OP!!!

As long you are not damaging the client's hair - if that is what she wants then so be it....As long as she is happy!!! What I dig the most is regardless of what anyone thinks I bet she is walking around like America's Next Top Model -gotta respect that!

I have to admit the first thing that came to mind was B.A.P.S. :) - however, you can't tell me they were not rockin' those styles in that movie!!!

I am not knockin' tha hustle!!!

Although I don't care for the color, I'm used to that sort of thing down here. However, the 27 piece style look like it took skillz and some :artist: ability...

Off Topic: I love how that black rinse made your hair so shiny and full looking peppers01!

It's still a quick weave. 27 piece is just the name of the hair style.

Baby ANTM is not even describing her personality. She is soooo sassy already, but when I finish her hair she starts to sound like Marilyn Monroe; "Ohhhhh girl, I love my hair. I bout to put on my pumps and go out tonight!":lachen::lachen:
