Ok now...2 weeks ago, my hair was not in the best shape, but we were making it...as of yesterday, the area in the back of my head where I experienced serious underprocessing...IS GONE. My hair has broken completely off to the new growth....about 1 inch total. This area is the size of the palm of my hand (I have small hands....I planned on relaxing early to mid june...should I give up that hope? What should I doooooooooooooo...I'm too upset about losing so much hair in so little time in spite of the good treatment I give it, I cant even think clearly

Sorry to hear about your hair. I know you have to feel pretty bad. Are you sure it was underprocessed? It sounds like it was over processed. I had that kind of breakage happen to me to before but it was due to double processing (permanent color and relaxer). What have you been putting on it and doing to it?

It also sounds like it's overprocessed to me. Based on your previous posts, did you just recently relax after 5 weeks of growth?

It seems that the hair was seriously overprocessed. Underprocessing wouldn't cause such breakage, hence why texturized hair is healthier than bone straight. That happened to me when I let a stylist give me a touch up and she seriously overlapped. The front left side of my hair has chunks in the middle broken down to the newgrowth. My hair was running down my legs in the shower and I was crying for hours. Luckily for me you can't really tell and it's growing back nicely.
I know how discourging it is when you work so hard at your hair and one thing can set you back for months. Hold off a bit on the relaxer and start using a reconstuctor. You might need a big trim to even out some parts. Be extra gentle with your hair right now.

No..the ends were weak from past damage, the middle was severely underprocessed(the whole left side is), and there was my kinky new growth...I havent had any negative changes in my regime..I've been doing way more moisture and added weekly mild protein..NO! I have not relaxed at all since Apil 2nd and don't plan to for a while now thanks to this..

Underprocessed hair can break off, I've experienced it. If you can't be gentle enough with it then don't texturize. Especially if you can't find the proper tools/products (for you!) to detangle and manage it. From what you have stated I think the best thing to do if you can is to put it in braids and leave it alone. The stress of daily wear and tear is to much on your hair right now.

How long is the rest of your hair? That happened to me once when my hair was overprocessed--the whole back of my head broke off to the newgrowth. Then the top started breaking off. I had to get it cut into a super short style, and started getting it pressed (eventually got a relaxer again, but that's another story). Maybe you can get a cute Halle Berry-type haircut & start growing it out again.

Sorry that happened to you. Are SURE you don't want to just cut it and start over?...Your hair sounds like it is SERIOUSLY damaged! I wish you the best!

Sorry to hear about your hair, I know how it feels. I just recently experienced SERIOUS breakage, after a color. I used Nexxus Emergencee, from a suggestion on this site, and the breakage stopped. I've been doing co-washes and no heat, to put less strain on the hair. Luckily my hair is past shoulder length, I can cover the shorter hair. HTH
