This forum can be discouraging

Im like everytime i go into a thread, someone is always putting somebody down. Were all in here trying to learn how to take care of our hair right? Its suppose to be about sista love but i dont feel it. I guess thats why i dont bother to post sometimes. SAD

You are right, but there's also a lot of support here and encouragement. You just have to look at the positives. They are all around.
Venture outside of the hair forum, you will see ladies who have lost family members with hundreds of encouraging responses, help for people who are in bad relationships, post saying "good morning" and prayers for healing. There's ALOT to LHCF that can be missed if you spend time only focusing on the negative. HTH

Try not to let it bother you and don't let negative people keep you from posting. Be encouraged, the good ones out weigh the bad ones.

I don't hold the same opinion but wanted to tell you to not be discouraged. Ultimately most of the women here are genuine, friendly and caring. I know at times we get out of hand (INCLUDING ME!!!!) but we are human and sometimes people make mistakes

I use to see comments like this and think, "Add a little sugar, add a little sugar." But after being around here for awhile, I totally agree with you. I have honestly seen boards that me think, "Dang MAN!!" They chew people up and spit them out. This over here is nothing. NOTHING! LHCF really is a great place.

OP: Again, there are tons of positive women here. You have to learn to some things.

cosign. I only see positive remarks on the hair threads. If its negative it's a comment about a product, not another member.

Yes we do talk bad about celebrities in the entertainment forum but they are fair game.

I personally have noticed that some members have not posted, or some have changed their names because they might have been banned or what ever...But - for the most part... people here are intellegent....They won't put up with the crazyness.

It's all in what you perceive. If you go looking for negativity, it shall be found.

I don't know about everyone else, but I see about 1 negative post in ratio to about 23 positive ones. The negative posts and few and far IMHO. I hardly ever see people "dogging" out other members on the hairboard. But maybe that's my reality and you def. have the right to feel the way you do. But I would ignore it. *shrugs*

I remember having mixed feelings about the board one day. I posted something just to add to the discussion and it was taken the wrong way i guess.

And I let it bother me for that moment, but then thought about all the good comments, and encouraging supporters on here and it was soon forgot about.

I agree w/ the previous poster who said you have to ignore the bad. I tend to let things consume me, so I have to completely ignore.

I just got finished responding in a thread where people intentionally put a poster down because they thought her thread question was "stupid" However, there are many positive and encouraging members here willing to help you along your hair journey. Shoot some of my own posts have been visited by the one star bandit, but I won't let the negative people deter me from participating - I paid my money to post just like they did, so imma get my money's worth!

I don't even bother with the negativity, seriously. I figure some people are just having bad days - were all human, and sometimes the 'anonymity' of the internet makes people forget that there is another human on the other side of the screen, and they opt to treat people with rudeness, negativity, and dismissal - and then say that people shouldn't get so 'offended' by words on a screen. UrrmmHm.

It's like a grocery store - pick up what you need, leave the rest on the shelf.
