Here's my story. I've been natural since August 1998 and have about 15" of hair. Possibly longer, but I haven't blow dried and measured in about two years. Anyway, it takes me about four hours to wash and twist my hair, which is how I normally wear it. Now that I have a baby coming, I know I won't have that kind of time for my hair, so locs seem to be a better alternative.
Are there any loc'd heads here? How did you start yours? I plan to just do small twists and start that way, but I'm confused about maintenance. I keep hearing about latching and I have no idea what that means. Also I hear folks say they just twist the new growth. I assume they mean twisting like coils, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know? Thanks.
