Thinking about starting over plus pressing results and disaster

its too short to twist its like half an inch or less (streched) except for the top. and its hard to wear wigs because of my front. I can't even wear a puff. I tried to gel the back and sides down but the back is too thick. heat styling is not an option because I need it to get back to the length on my profile page.

Thanks, Ima look into to that struggling with natural hair, its this length I can't get with I think the back is layered.... its supposed to be even.... I can't go anyshorter now... but its totally un protective styleable.

I got my staple products down that Ima stick too (i used to be the biggest pj) Nexxus for washing giovani direct and knot today mixed as a leave end. and as far as moisturizer I'm using shea moisture I need to fund something better though any suggestion?

I think I do have fine strands someone once told me my strands were fine but my hair is thick. idk if that's possiable but that's what I was told.

What kind of help do you want? Your actions seem rather impulsive. Patience is key here. You can't take such drastic actions like cutting your hair in the car unevenly and then get angry at the stylist when she evens up your hair like you asked. I don't understand why you cut it in the first place. What type of hair cutting shears did you use? You can't just use any scissors and they must be used solely for cutting hair. Nothing else.

Never swim without a cap. Ever. You had your bare hair out even though it was in twists. I am not sure you took the proper steps getting the chlorine out. They have swim caps that don't allow water to seep in at all. Chlorine is murder on all types of hair natural, relaxed, dyed and types 1-4.

You should focus on hair health and not length. I am not clear about what products you used or how. Stop trying to wrangle your hair into a style. It has been cut.

Get a plan/routine and stick with it. Do not keep changing your mind. Take the advice given. It seems to me you were given advice and you did the opposite. Why?

You are also blaming the stylist for correcting your mistakes. It isn't her fault you can't style your hair.

The ladies have put you on the right path. Stay on it. They want to help. You have to help yourself by reading the wealth of information on the forum. Come up with a plan including products, a regimen,diet and exercise. After you have done that, ask their opinion.

You need to stop all that shampooing and cowash. You need a dc and you need to moisturize and seal. Giovanni is a nice conditioner but it isn't a deep conditioner. There is a difference between dc and regular conditioner.

Leave the denman ALONE. That brush is evil. I didn't realize it at first(midshaft splits and breakage) and do not get the tangle teaser. Use a jibere or a wide toothed wooden/bamboo comb. Use seamless combs. Do a search on the forum.

Your cut looks fabulous to me, if you were in Los Angeles everyone would be asking you who cut your hair. It looks like a nice 60's retro short bob, bet you get a nice high top fade in the natural state. Furthermore, that cut will grow out to a nice bob. I would stick with that stylist for cuts, she gave you a great grow out cut.

Now on to some of your other points, sorry the hair journey has been so turbulent for you. I too acquired tree splits, and mid hair line cracks from baggying when I first started. Now I know how to maintain a baggy routine for fine hair, so I enjoy progress from it.

Again, I completely understand the frustration of drastic hair length differences. My hair is much shorter this year than last, because I have been trimming as areas that were bald get a little longer. Sometimes I am a little down when I think about the loss of length and wonder if I made the right choice. But I enjoy the luxury of thick healthy looking hair like yours.

All I can do is hair sister with you on this one, and let you know it was the baggying that caused the tree splits. Fine hairs are very sensitive, and can explode from all the moisture in the baggy technique unless your reggie is on point, and you baggy with the right products for your hair at that moment. I have witnessed this on many boards. With our delicate hair, we just have to accept the fact that some setbacks while getting our reggie together is a part of the journey. Since you are a fast grower like me, I bet summer will get you to a sexy neck length bob, and you will feel better.

I know you want an individual regime, but really none of us can see your hair. I think swimming, shampoo, and tree braids grows my hair, but I wouldn't baggy while swimming often. I use heavy sealers all year long, and grease when I swim. Learn to use the search engine, there are several threads on swimming, it shares what type of cap to use, and everyone shared what they put on their hair over time. Some were successful with conditioner, and others like myself used grease or wax. God's speed on your journey, I know you can do it.

Hey I'm late on the replies. I'm just now reading this. I was only swimming for that short period of time in April to March I did a lot of research prior they said that the cap didnt keep 100% of your hair dry so I would put a conditioner on it then wrap it with saran then put my cap and immediately shampoo afterward and have a DC with a conditioning cap under a beenie.

The help I was originally (OP) looking for was I trimmed my hair but is it is (horribly) uneven. Should I get it cut even or let it grow out (since I (horribly)self trimmed it, it would have grew out healthy meaning no splits but just be horrifically un even) But most people were said cut it, so I did.

I not angry that its short I just don't (didnt at the time of the newer post) know what to do with hair this short that was my purpose for the post on the 29th. . . I pretty much have a plan of products and regime (listed above yours) but not style. (Its too short to braid for wigs which is my style of choice) I was fortunate enough to have my cuz sew me some tracks in for right now hopefully when I take it out it will be at braiding length

I only use Giovani direct Leave in but nexxus products for washing (I have the whole line. . I tried a ton of products the past 4 years but seem to always go back to nexxus so I mad it a staple.) I use the Kerephix and A DC and Humectress jar DC sometimes Ill use the regular conditioners just to switch it up (they never fail me.)

Thanks for telling me ab the Dennman I use(d well back before I cut it) that faithfully!!! That probably was one of the problems causing my splits. I been looking at the quidad detangling comb and magic rake as well.

Thanks seamonster. Atleast (like you said) on the brightside it will grow into a nice bob. Are you relaxed or natural?

I'm def quiting bagging. The only time for long term bagging I will do from now on will be like conditioning (well thats not really bagging though)
