Things I learned as a child that keep me from getting healthy hair

Welcome!

Don't feel like u have to do everything that is mentioned on the board. (ex. washing hair in braids).

many of us went thru that phase---maybe it is a learing process--but if u can help it--don't rush out to try every latest rave.

the biggest lesson i learned was that i have to 'learn' my hair and that what works for 1 wont work for another.

just try to get down a BASIC reggie and give it a little time and evaluate what works (keep doing it) and what doesn't (make a change)

WHAT ARE U NOW DOING (washing, moisture, styling, products) AND WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF UR HAIR (natural, relaxed, length, brittle ends, etc)?

La Flaca, you probably shouldn't change your whole hair care regimen at one time. If you try doing that, then you will not know what works for you. If you have an area of your current hair care regimen that you are not happy with, or something about your hair that you want to change, start with one regimen change that will have a positive effect on that change. For instance, I wanted to see what effect more moisture would have on my hair so the first thing that I tried was CO washing. I tried it even before I became an official member. After making that one change to my regimen for four months 8/31 - 12/31, I knew it was good for my hair so I kept it in my regimen. As a matter of fact, my hair loved it so well, that I removed shampoo from my regimen.

There's a lot of info on the forum, and many different opinions about what works and what doesn't. The reason for this is that something may work very well for one head of hair and not well or not at all for another. The only way for you to figure out what works for you, is to try things. So, welcome to the board, and HHG (happy hair growing).
