These are the braids I\'m getting

I was vacillating between getting braids and just wearing a bun, but I've decided to bite the bullet and get the braids I've wanted since October. I like these braids because they're done with silk fibers and the salon specializes in helping women transition from relaxers with braids without incurring breakage. The salon says the braids can last up to 4 months with visits every three weeks for maintence which consist of washing, tightening up, and monitoring the newgrowth. I'm already 5 1/2 months post relaxer, and I'm making my appointment for the second week of January.

Oh my-I have a friend who's a friend of the lady who owns the stress free salon! I say go for it,girl.Get those braids. I plan on getting some, since I don't plan on applying anymore heat to my hair nor wearing it down until April.

They are cute.

Just make sure that the fiber doesn't damage the part of your hair that's relaxed.

Uh, What's the name of this salon?? I've been thinking of getting braids too. My new growth is driving me crazy. But I'm trying to stick to my transition to natural hair. I'm sure if I "put my hair away" I won't be tempted to do anything drastic.

Exactly, I feel the need to "put my hair away" because It's like I can't do much because of the transition. This way, my hair will be left alone to grow, I'm hoping for 3 inches of new growth.

Re: JenniferMD...

Thanks Karonica, but I can't seem to style it any other way but like the way it is in the pictures.

Re: JenniferMD...

They do look really cute on you! How do you tie them up at night? How long have you had them? Do they get frizzy at all?

Sorry for all the questions!
