Thermal brushes?

Other than the hot comb my grandma used to use, I've never heard of these things. Does anyone here use them? Any thoughts? Stay away? Give 'em a try?

Awww shoot!! My mom had one of those when I was in middle school. It came in a set with a blow dryer and something else. She never used it, but I remembery trying it out and getting my hair all tangled up I was in middle school though, so I was just getting hip to how to hold a marcel iron properly. My bad experience was most likely due to technique...or lack thereof! Has anyone else ever used these with good results?
