Can i use the whole egg instead of just the yolk to stop breakage or will that defeat the purpose?

I used egg before in my hair with my conditioner. I mixed the conditioner with the egg after wash....placed on a plastic cap....went under the dryer for 15 mins....wash out...reconditioned with a cheap conditioner to comb out in the shower.....My hair is always at it's best when I do this....but it took too long....like sometimes it would take an 1 hour before i was complete. So I only do it if I neeed my hair at it's best....I am going to do it before I put braids in this weekend.
