Anyone have continued success with this form of relaxing.

I need an explanation of how this works

I love the idea of having that texturized appearence, and then wearing it strait when I rollerset.

How do you keep this up, do you need a proffessional, etc.

All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Well, I have a relaxer and I do wash and gos. I just did a relaxer last week and I was actually trying to get it straighter but it came out texturized again. :ohwell:

I conditioner wash every day, i don't comb, let air dry, then I pin back the hair by my temples.

At night, I oil and wet the ends, braid 2 plaits and put on satin scarf.

I have recent pics in my album

DSylla..., You have such beautiful thick hair! Your hair reminds me of Oprah's - it's so thick. It seems you can do anything with it and get away, unlike people with thinner more fragile hair. You also have a pretty baby face....

Are you referring to Jazma? There website has some info and do a search on it here as well.
Maybe someone will answer this question so we'll both know what its like.

Yes I have a wash and go relaxer and it's basically a texturizer. I believe that I've had success with it cause it allows me to really stretch my touch up times for about 6 months, right now I'm on month 8.

It works like a texturizer, my previous stylist would apply the chemical (a regular strength relaxer) to my New Growth. He would spray a conditioner on my ends to serve as a barrier to control overlapping. He would work the product through different sections (back first) and wash each section, followed up by leaving a conditioner on my just washed hair and then put on a neutralizing shampoo, then deep treat. Same as a relaxer, but depending on your texture it's left in for a shorter amount of time than a relaxer, usually 5-10 minutes.

I also love the options that I can have with texturizers. I can do so many different styles! I maintain my hair according to styling needs.

For Straight styles
I wash and deep treat hair, follow up with a leave-in like giovanni's direct leave-in. I blowdry my hair and then run a ceramic iron over it and put on a lite moisturizer. You can also do rollersets, I will be doing more rollersets next year when I buy a new hooded dryer.

For Wash and GO styles
I either poo and deep treat and follow up with a curl enhancing gel and light moisturizer. I also do co-washes when the NG gets to be too much. I usually use a cheap conditioner like Suaves or lately my favorites...Dominican conditioners...they are awesome! I love Miss Key 10 en 1 plus!

But like a relaxer you must alternate between deep and moisturizing treatments.

Keep heat to a minimum.
And always moisturize, moisturize, moisturize...especially the last 3 inches of your hair to prevent splits. HTH!:)
