I was so excited when I got my Maxiglide, I could not wait to try it....so I did...with the MTG in my hair. If you think it stinks out of the bottle, try heating it up with a flat-iron!!! Next time, I'll wait to try it on freshly washed hair and add the MTG after I flat-iron.

The MTG with the flat-iron (I think) made my hair feel kind of hard and little stiff but it looked long (my husband says I'm only about 1/2 from APL and that's after only 2 weeks of using the MTG) and it still had some body.

Anyway, just sharing my experience. :)

I have a sew-in so I flat iron the weave with my maxiglide. I only MTG'd my scalp and ends of the left out hair. I didn't smell anything though....I imagine it would stink if I did glide my real hair though:lachen:. Talk about creating a big stink!!

The funny thing is now you maxi glide is going to smell like MTG for awhile...I think I might use it too much b/c even when I go get my hair done when she puts that blow dryer to my scalp all you smell is burnt MTG after a fresh wash but hey I don't care

Caramelty,
Your hair is gorgeous but I find it kinda strange if you're still smelling mtg AFTER a fresh wash. It's like it's exuding from your scalp. You know, like how if you eat too much garlic it comes out of your pores. Does that happen w/any kind of oil you apply to your scalp? That doesn't sound too good to me. But your hair is nice. I just don't want nothing to happen to all that progress you know?

I might be oozing MTG after a while too. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and have noticed MEGA waves and coils in the back of my head!! I am 5 weeks post relaxer and going to try to go 12 weeks, but I ordered the MTG a few weeks ago and have been using it faithfully each night the for past 2 weeks and surging in the morning.

I have been contemplating getting the maxiglide too b/c after i watched the informercial, I was hooked on it. I've done quite a few google searches and got mostly positive feedback about it.....You have to update us on your satisfaction when you use it on your non-MTG treated hair.

MTG actually lessenes the effect of chemicals on my head. I looked like I needed a touch up every 3 weeks. If yr hair is anything like mine, I'm giving u a warning in advance!

What's APL?

Also, like people said earlier, it's a temporary mistake

Natrlchllnge, glad you pointed that out about me needed a relaxer before my time. I think my hair is a type 3A according to the hair type instructions. When it's wet, the only way it is straight is that I run the fine tooth comb through it and straighten it, but as it starts to dry, it looks like a gerry curl just waiting on some activator!! I'm going to try to stetch to 12 weeks and just keep the new growth tied down nightly with sylver2's method.

cocoberry 10, APL is "arm pit length" i think...
