Ok, as many of you know, I have relaxer and am 5 weeks post. I am getting my braids back in because they are relatively easy and the thing I love the most is that I don't have to look at the length of my hair every single day.

I can put the braids in and take them down in two months and see the growth. But I am going to do like another member here and just take each braid down and redo them. So I will probably be in braids until December and then truly see my length then. I will deep condition with LeKair's liquid cholestrol treatment every month and wash twice a week for stimulation of my scalp.

I am also going to curl the ends of the BIBA hair with perm rods for a cute curly look at the ends. I'm so excited if you all can't tell cause I know I will be so suprised at the growth after I straighten my hair in December. That's how it was before when I did the C-G method.:D

I think she shows you how to do it on her site. It's relatively easy but I can't really explain it. They may have something on youtube also.

But let me ask you a question: I know that braids minimize the manipulation of hair and protect the ends since they are hidden and intertwined throughout the braid hair, so I am trying to save my ends from being clipped. Do you think if I do the C-G for a year with deep conditioning my hair while in braids every month along with moisturizing every day or other day, I can get away with not having split ends or clipping my hair for a year?

This is what I do. I'm going to put my braids in this month and take them out in Decmber. I just redo the braids one by one.

so shynessqueen, we are on the same regimine. *cool*

What do you think about the ends thing?

Also with BT, my multivitamin and Robin's Super Amino Acid Vitamins I get a about 1 inch per month.

I am going to add MSM to this because that really gave me a growth spurt, so I'm thinking I'll def. average over 1 inch per month.

then I am also trying to transition my body towards not eating meat everyday and am looking for some good bean recipes since i joined a healthy body/ healthy hair challenge.

Ok, I need to buy some glycerin and pure cocunut oil. Any sites?

What do you think about the not cutting ends for a year Sareca?

Go for it. I tried to do the same, but I cheated and cut 1/2 inch in April. :ohwell: I'm not cutting it again until post-relaxer (which will be a year for me).

ETA: If you're not going to take them down to DC make sure you've got a good leave-in conditioner.

I know at the end of my last C-G stint, actually it was my first time trying C_G, i started getting lazy and slacking off on sponging the moisturizer through my braids. I end up cutting more than three inches off. i def learned my mistake and will not be making it again.

I don't know about the rest. I really keep it simple But i think you should do what's best for your hair.

I'm also doing this. I'm not cutting/trimming/Texing my hair for a year. I know Sareca stretches for a year as well.

Okay thanks alot. Now, i am amped about retaining all that length.

hey chica_canella! how many of robin's super potent vitamins do you take per day? i'm only taking one,but i think the site said to take two a day. what do you think?

I'm tempted to start up CnG I feel like my hair has been in a stand still since I took out my last braids in Feb. Or at least I'm loosing a lot of progress having to detangle, style my hair etc. I wanted to figure out my hair since I'm fully natural now. I didn't want my hair to get to long/big and get overwhelmed. I'm just too lazy to spend a whole weekend braiding it. But my hair really grew and retained length with the braids, it's like I know what I should do but I don't wanna.

I'd probably be closer to APL now if I had kept the braids :perplexed.

I will be on the C&G method for the remainder of the year. I decided just today to get micro braids using Quatre or Quatra wet and wavy hair. I don't want it long. Just about a couple of inches below my real length. I just need to know how to care for the braids. I'm so excited. I will get them in next Saturday in August. I can't wait!!!

girl, definitely use the C&G method. it has surely worked for me. it has allowed me to achieve lenght, and gain thickness because i relax my hair so infrequently. Happy hair growing! i will see u at waist length!!!!!!!!!!

O.K., so I'm a bit nervous about braids because I need advice on how to take care of them. What's the sponging method, for instance? I guess I'll have a lot of reading to do in the following week...:drunk:

This is what I want, but with straight synthetic hair. Last time I used human and it was hard to seal the ends. I am thinking about getting them before my next relaxer time or before the one after that. Not sure. I just hate dropping that $$$

I started the C&G method on the 4th of July, and there have been a few days that I've slacked on the sponging. After reading this, I will not be slacking off any more. I can't wait to see my progress. I was also thinking about redoing the braids one-by-one, but I'm afraid of not giving my hair any time to rest.

I am going to get braids with you ladies.

I have been procrastinating because I don't want to pay the cash and I like doing my own hair.

But I really need a break. I am like this :spinning: right now.

I just got a promotion and I am going to be starting my regular classes and going away for a 7 day class for my job.

Braids would be perfect right now. My hair needs the break, too.

Can you do the Crown and Glory Method with your own hair?

Robin says that you can but it is not as effective. I kinda agree with her because, I spent a 5 month stretch in braids and twists and while my hair did grow, My ends were no where near as protected as they could have been if they were covered in extensions. So I had the growth and less breakage but my ends could have been in better condition had I used extensions.

C&G without hair is better than nothing.

I get it now! Thanks

I keep seeing this thing about "sponging," but I can't find a description of what it is and how to do it.

Can someone help me with this?

Also, my hair doesn't like glycerin, but I see people are using it on their braids, not their hair. How does this help?

I'm trying to learn all I can!

Thanks ;)
