I read a little book, by Earl L Mindell, called the the Miracle of MSM, about 40 pages. So I started taking 10,000 mgs of MSM for my sore joints. Within two weeks the pain was gone, my nails grew long and so strong. I colored by hair about two week ago and now you can see the new growth. But what is really amazing is that my fiancee told me that he noticed that I don't snore any more. I am sleeping through the night instead of waking up because of sleep apnea. This stuff is amazing.
 
Good to hear the positive results you are experiencing from MSM. What Brand of MSM are you taking and how long have you been taking it?
 
I bought it at Walmat. It's 1000 mg per capsule, I also take ultra nourish hair, and gnc womens mega vitamins.
 
The book recommends to take that much at first and taper off to 3000 after a few weeks. Excess MSM goes to the hair, nails and skin and then out of the body.
 
I just added msm to vitamin regimen and cant wait to reap the benefits.

okay i went down on my dosage bc someone said that it slows down growth (to get it healthier)..I guess that its false
 
Did anyone notice irregular periods when taking the msm? This happened to me and the only new thing I had added to my regime was the msm. I remember people talking of biotin having this effect, but I'd been taking that for awhile and had never experienced anything else.

I noticed this too but I didnt panic because I figured trying something new tends to throw some things off balance. It only happened for the first two months and then everything went back on track. Hopefully everthing is ok.
 
What if you have new growth currently and take msm and then the growth you get is now different, how will this affect touchup time? God bless you all.
 
See, like someone said yesterday, I like feeling my new growth! Between the MSM and the Surge my new growth is silky -- it's like I went from a 4b to a 4a or something. Now I'm not complaining, it's all good. I guess at touch-up time the relaxer will take sooner to the new new growth while it'll take a little longer for the old new growth to take, thorougly confusing attentive stylists.
 
yeah i ask because i am in braids and i currently have new growth and i am wondering if i should try msm and surge will when i take out my braids will it take like a master relaxer to get the procedure done correctly? God bless you all.
 
I bought spring valley msm at walmart for about 7.95, 90 caps of 1000mg. I was desperate for pain relief. I will probably buy a better brand this week because I almost out of it. My nails are 1/8 inch long(usually what I get in a month), I colored my new growth on Oct 30th with dark alburn and it looks like I have 1/4 to 1/2 new growth, especially around the edges.
 
ah scalp soreness- thats what im experiencing since i started surging and daily washing again. it feels like im tenderheaded, or like when you have cornrows in too tight. id rather have that than itching or headaches, though! i wouldn't have pin pointed it unless i read that here regarding MSM.
 
I WENT TO WALMART TODAY TO BUY MSM. I WAS SO LOST, I DON'T KNOW WHAT BRAND TO BUY. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. WHAT BRAND DO I NEED TO BUY FROM WALMART OR GNC? THANKS

yes but I never associated it with msm until reading your post !!! I have always had fast growing strong nails but they arent growing for anything since taking msm although my skin does look better and my hair is definitely softer. Once I finish up this bottle I wont buy anymore.

Ok I just started taking MSM again 1,000 today, Should I go up to 10,000 or more, then go down is that what u r saying, How much water r u taking with it, and what eles, I dont have Vitamin C, So I will take maybe carrot juice, or just water,

those taking MSM vitamin shoppe brand or those that know, on the back it say 1/4 teaspoon = 1000 mg, if I take 1/2 does that mean I have already taking 3, 1/4 =3,000 thanks, I am trying to take up too 10,000 today not hard at all
