I just wrote this in the hair journal I keep. But since I like to keep my lovely board friends involved in my happenings, I decided to share this once. lol
---------
So after I saw on the hair boards some post about henna gloss, I looked into it. Its like adding henna to conditioner to get the conditioning affects without the full hardship that is true henna-ing (LOL). So I decided to take it a step further and create a deep conditioner with henna. Here is the mix:

- Conditioner: enough to cover my whole head thoroughly
- Honey: about 1/5 the amount of conditioner
- Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil: about 1/8 (?) the amount of conditioner
- Baking soda: 2 teaspoons
- Henna: 3 teaspoons
- Water: just enough to thin the paste a little

I mixed it all up and now I am letting it sit until I use it later tonight. If it works half as well as people claim, it can become a keeper. And I would then revamp my reggie a bit so that I could do it weekly. This would mean I would have to clarify weekly (as I only want to do it on "clean" hair), but I wouldn't mind if it was worth it. *Fingers crossed*
--------

So after I do it tonight and wash it out tomorrow, I will let you all know whether its a keeper and how it will affect my reggie =)

Ooo, I can not wait to see how this goes! I've been wanting to try that myself. When I first henna'd, I added conditioner and amla powder to it. All these henna recipes make me want to run out and buy more henna to experiment with. :)

BHC,
What does the baking soda in your mix do? Just curious, I've seen different mixes but this is the first one I've seen with baking soda.

LOL well i throw baking soda in everything for the cleansing and relaxing properties. =)

and i added some vinegar (red wine vinegar) to it so i could release the dye. i will be applying it at like midnight-ish

I am sure this question has been asked on a different forum, but I can't seem to find the answer.

Can you henna you hair every week, or will that dry your hair out?

Can you henna gloss your hair every week?

i plan on henna (glossing) every week. i looked it up and it is more than ok. i even did my first 2 applications a day apart and my results were MAGNIFICENT
