Though I lurked on LCHF earlier, I don't consider myself to have been taking my haircare very seriously until mid summer of last year, or about a year ago. That's when i started deep conditioning and protective styling more often. I have a bit of hair anorexia, and find myself feeling sad sometimes that i still have short hair. I was only looking back at pictures from 1 or two relaxer cycles prior, and i hadn't thought to look back to a year ago to see how far id really come. Pics are below. The first picture is July 2008 and the second picture is today. While i could've been APL by now if i had just started acting right from the beginning... i cant complain too much. :yep:

So about the flatironing... I consider myself to be an advanced flatironer because i've been doing it for so long. My hair never comes out frizzy or not straight enough, and since finding LHCF and cutting down on my heavyhandedness, i always have swang. But today, my hair is doing what I have always wanted it to do: it has weight, but also swang. Before, my swang was featherlight, but today, it has substance.. if that makes sense.

I clarified and DCed with heat using ORS replenishing, and put just little bit of HairOne olive on and rinsed out for slip. Out of the shower i added like a peasized amount of HairOne to all of my hair, and then towel dried. I added some 911 Leave In and Chi Silk Infusion to my hair and let airdry 60% before blowdrying. Once dry i added a few more drops of chi silk infusion. Then i flatironed using my trusty pink Solia 1''. What was different this time was my method.

I hear about people using the comb chase method of flatironing, where you put the flatiron on the hair and then run a comb through right behind it. Today,i used the comb follow method, after watching this SalonCabelo yt video. This way, i put a fine toothed comb into the section of hair and then followed it with the flatiron. Hy hair came out PERFECT this way, and looks just like hers does in the video, although unfortunately, not as long. I then sprayed a little VS So Sexy Shine Mist on my hair and it smells so good! I'm making plans to go out to dinner because i'm not just gonna sit at home with my hair looking and smelling all good! :lick:

I just had to share!

Great progress. Yes, I'd say you should keep looking at your starting pics to see how you've progressed.

I subscribed to her channel. She is very detailed with her videos and I need that. Thank you for sharing your progress. You really did a great job on your hair!:yep:

Absolutely! When I am feeling down about my progress, my length check photos show me that, "Hey, you are going somwhere.." It is VERY important to document your journey with photos :yep:
