The braids are out...now what??

I tried doing a search but couldn't find any info.

For people that are relaxing after taking out braids, how long did you wait before relaxing? What were your methods to strengthen your hair so you wouldn't have breakage when relaxing?

I wait at least two weeks before relaxing my hair post braids.

I use protein conditioners by Nexxus and Joico during my last wash before getting a relaxer.

The last time I took my braids out, I could not wait the 2 weeks.

I relaxed after a week. I did do 2 deep conditioning sessions before, that but I just could not wait.

I think I could have if I had gone to a salon to get them to straighten it for me, but I could not do it my self this time.

I was using Lenzis Request oil while I had the braid in those 4 weeks and it was not pretty after removing them

But, I normallt try to go 2 weeks. This time I just could not.

I did not leave the relaxer in that long so it is still pretty tightly coiled under there. But it is a little easier to handle.

I look forward to my next relaxer because I know I will be able to use it as normal.
