what are thee advantages of doing so/what is the difference that you see on your tresses?
Is there any deep conditioners that anyone suggests and why?
Maybe this is something that I/others like me need to add to my hair routine that would make a difference.
As of right now im an unbeliever.

I currently condition my hair once a week with nexxus humectress. I leave it on for about 30min-1hr. I thought that was getting the job done

I currently wash and condition my hair twice per week also using Humectress, leaving it on about 30 min. I've learned our hair also needs added strength and a deep conditioner, like Nexxus Keraphix or Emergencee will do it very well. I use one of these about once each month. I can tell the difference in my hair's body and when I touch it, it feels stronger, if that makes any sense. It adds more protein to the hair which it needs to stay strong. I follow this treatment (also 30 min.) with my regular Humectress because it is important to use a moisturizing conditioner after the protein treatment. Otherwise, our hair can feel hard after deep conditioning.

I also do it on the wash day before my relaxer and just after doing a relaxer retouch, to restore the strength.

Leaving your Humectress on for that amount of time is the near equivalent to someone who leaves it on for less time, but with heat.

It sounds like you are treating your hair well

I thought leaving the Humectress on WAS deep conditioning..that what I do to Deep Condition, unless I'm using the Keraphix or Emergencee.

[/ QUOTE ] <font color="purple">newgrowth, leaving any conditioner on for that length of time is considered a "deep conditioning"...deep just refers to an extended time I believe. You gotta it girl.

Ok, I have a question. I just bought some Nexxus Humectress and Therapee today. And I already have the Keraphix. So basically, all you do is wash with the shampoo(Therapee)first, then you can use the Keraphix as a deep conditioner for however long you want, THEN you can use the Humectress as the moisturizing conditioner after you rinse out the Keraphix? Or do you start the process over with the shampoo again and then the conditioner? I have never used the products so I am trying to make sure I get it right because I know the Keraphix will make your hair hard if you don't use a good moisturizing conditioner after it.

Deep also refers to the level of penetration. Heat and.or length of time will bolster the degree to which the conditioner will penetrate the cuticle of the hair and make it to the cortex - which is what needs it.

I agree that Humectress for 20 minutes or more - even with no heat will do the trick. Leaving conditioners on longer is a substitute for heat - which speeds penetration.

Buffy - no need to reshampoo. Just rinse the Keraphix and apply Humectress. Let it sit for 20 minutes or more then rinse and style.

Also, Keraphix is a conditioner that you CAN use alone occasionally if you like. It won't make the hair as hard as easily as some other stronger protein treatments will.

You can do the Humectress after most of the time - but occasionally you may try it without the followup and see what happens.

I agree. Keraphix on my hair acts like a creamy non-protein condit. My hair is soft and moist afterwards. I always follow w/Humectress just to be on the safe side...

can you also use kerastase masquintense as a moisturizer after a deep protein conditioner?
thanks
