I have tried to stick with biotin. I have tried to take lower doses. However, no matter what I do, taking Biotin always seems to give me huge, hard pimples that hurt:nono:

Yep, same here. That was the conclusion I came to before I put it aside for good a few months ago. I can grow my hair without it.

Yes, me too...not only was I getting pimples but hair bumps as well...:::Yuck!:: No more Biotin for me.

I'd been taking Biotin for years. I was so happy that it helped my hair and nails grow. I never imagined that it could be causing my increasingly bad acne problem. 2 weeks ago I read a thread on this and stopped taking it. I am going to wait a month and see if my acne problem lessens. If so, then bye bye Biotin. Its too bad really, it made my nails rock-hard strong.

I had the same thing happen to my face. I have never had problems with my skin, but when I was taking Biotin I started to get these pimples on my face that were white, hard, and hurt. I cut it out of my reggie immediately. It was the only new thing I had added so I knew that was the culprit. My skin cleared right up. Bye Bye Biotin.

Were you guys taking BIOTIN pills? I have BIOTIN organic shampoo and conditioner, that I do not really like just because the shampoo probably has those dreaded sulfrates (sp?). I will try anything once, so I might try these pills. But if I get the bumps I'll have to stop. I've been looking for something to make my nails hard.

I was taking the pills:wallbash:

I have been taking Biotin since September and haven't had any problems at all. On the other hand, I had those problems with MSM. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Are you taking a B complex to counteract it? I think some members on here have said that strictly taking biotin alone may cause these problems. I heard that B-5 or pantothentic acid helps skin. I have problems with acne sometimes but when I took a biotin supplement it never made it better or worse.

good point..I also heard that if you're taking biotin, you have to take B complex to complement it. I am taking B complex with mine, maybe that's why I havent had acne issues..

i'm sorry you guys had problems. i've been taking it for a few months with no problems. my skin is typically clear and very dry. I wonder if skin type has something to do with it. in the last few months, its been glowing but I attribute that to my new cleanser.

Biotin is the Debil  I had mountain growing from head to toe. I had big mount foogies where I didnt know you could get pimples. Painful pimples But man were my nails long and hard :evillaugh: And I have been taking b-complex long before I took biotin. I also drink plenty of water.
