dontspeakdefeat for telling me about Stephanie. She was very nice stylist who did my hair here in the atl today. I realized that I had not had a retouch since October (I was transitioning and didn't even know it lol). I had some breakage going on (I will get into this later) and she told me and she asked me if she could cut it because I had already asked for layers. She asked me several times and made VERY SURE that I did not mind her cutting it. She said I know a lot of people want to hold on to their length so I also make sure it's okay with the client before I cut it

She gave me a nice layered bob style. It is so shiny and pretty. (I will post pics once I find my camera attachment to my phone) She used the affirm lye perm. Which leads me to my next two very sad revelations

...

1) My hair does not like no lye perms. I got the affirm sensitve scalp no lye relaxer the last time I got a retouch and even though at first it seemed okay, after about two weeks, I realized my hair was terribly dry and it was breaking.

2)Alas, my beloved Elucence shampoo....my natural hair DOES NOT like it at all. I realized that when I'm more than 6 or 7 weeks post relaxer, elucence makes my new growth feel as rough as a brillo pad

. Say it ain't so!

So now you're talking to a newly reformed getting her lye relaxers ON TIME girl from now on. At least until I decide to transition again

Girl, I am so glad that you had a good experience. I can't wait to see those pics!

This is the third good review that Stephanie Lyons has gotten from board members. That is so great!

She is a good stylist that cares about what you, the client, wants. And that girl knows how to do some hurr!

So all you Atlanta ladies that are out there looking for a good stylist who is no scissor happy. Stephanie is the one!!!

girl it is still looking good! I will probably wash it tomorrow or Wed. and do a rollerset. I"ll let you know how it turns out!

Off topic, but DSD, how many bags of kanekalon hair did it take for your braids? I'll multiply yours by 2 so I'll know how many to get for my big head.

I use about 6 bags. My head is pretty big by the way so I don't think you need to multiply that number by 2.

The BSS around the way has 3 bags for 5 bucks. I think that's a deal!

I plan on doing them next month or so. I have some Sensationnel weaving hair I need to use up first.

I can't find my digital camera attachment. I know y'all are probably sitting up there like "jaibee's hair is jacked up"

but believe me it is cute! I flipped the ends today and it looks like the hairstyle that melinda williams character (bird) on soul food wears. these layers are so versatile and I'm loving it! Stephanie is the bomb!

DSD is Stephanie your regular stylist and is she in to healthy hair care. The reason I ask is because I live in Macon and I do go to Stonecrest for shopping of course. I use to go to my stylist every week but since finding this LHCF I only go at touch-up time. What are some of the things you like about Stephanie? What are the prices? I might be visiting her soon.

Don'tSpeakdefeat?? Would you care to pm me your stylists phone number and address?? Believe it or not, I live in KY...and CAN NOT find anyone who is really knowledgable and caring about my hair.

I may have to make that 6-7 hour drive down to the ATL every 6 or so weeks to get my hair taken care of. I'm going to try this new girl that moved here from New York. If she does not show me something, I'm going to drive to Atlanta. I'm that desperate.

Thank you in advanced DSP.

Ladies. I can give you the number to call. Her name is Stephanie Lyons the number at JCPenny's where she works is: 770 484-2859.

I have sent 3 people from this board to her and all were pleased. She was my regular stylist. I was getting my "do" done every week or so. I don't go to her anymore because I started getting low on cash and decided to take my hair into my own hands. You guys are tempting me to make a visit. I think I'll just stop by and say hello!

I think the prices were comparable to anywhere else I have been. Relaxer ran between 70-75 dollars that included a trim and style. Wash and sets were around 25-30 dollars.

I like the fact that Stephanie is not pushy. She just does to your hair what you want and she is not scissor happy. My hair always looked healthy and shiny. She never had a lack of clients either. She would also warn you in advance if a service was gonna cost a little extra and if you were a regular she would give you the hook up sometimes on extra services. She also keeps her hair and herself looking very nice. She is a tall pretty lady with a beautiful smile!

Ladies please let me know what you decide and how everything turns out. Tell her that Tamika refered you, she should still remember me.

she is a sweetheart ladies....you will be pleased with Stephanie. Her hair is in a nice healthy style and she has a nice color in it too

I just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone has been to Stephanie lately.

I'm trying to help my mom find a new hairdresser since her regular guy just up and moved without notice. The lady she's going to now is really good at cutting hair and styling, but as usual the health of my mom's hair is suffering. It's not as soft or shiny as it usually is. Plus the lady is kind of shady with products. My mom will bring her own hair coloring products and the lady will use only a little bit and keep what's left over and then charge my mom regular price. She also doesn't like to do a lot of neutralizing and conditioning. Big No-No.

My mom is really picky about how her hair feels. Even though she has a short tapered haircut, she likes for it to feel soft and have movement. She can't stand hairspray. I think that's where I get that from. So if anyone can give me more info or impressions of Stephanie, I'd really appreciate it.
