Have you ever done this?
What was you hair type beforehand?
How long did you leave it on for including application time?
Which index did you use?
What were the results?

I accidentally texturized with Phyto. I meant for my hair to come out mostly straight, but Index II barely calmed my kinks. I tried it twice, the first time for 20 mins and the second for 30 if I remember correctly. The results were the same so I gave up. It really is gentle. All that time and nary an itch. Though I didn't get what I wanted, it didn't damage my hair which was priority one.

I think Phyto could be really great as a texturizer. And if I ever decide to do it, that's probably what I'd use. But it really depends on your hair as to which type to use and how long to keep it in. My hair is especially resistant. HTH.

Oh, and I'm 4/b. :)

Have you ever done this? Yes

What was you hair type beforehand? 3c

How long did you leave it on for including application time? about 10 min or less

Which index did you use? Phyto Index I mild

What were the results? My results were beautiful. I absolutly love Phyto for texturizing. My hair still looked completly natural without the frizz or puffiness, and it was very shiny and healthy. I wish I would have found out about Phyto 2 years ago when I received my first texturizer. I use to use mizini for texturizing, but the Phyto is 10 times better.

Yes I did
4a, all natural virgin hurr
About 10 minutes total on each section. I did it in the back first, rinsed it, then applied to the front.
I used Index 1
Great. Still can do all natural styles, puffs, twists still curl at the ends, still curly but less frizzy and bulky. I can do curly wash & go's now and couldn't before. I can wear it straightened which I couldn't before (not for more than 5 minutes anyway) and I have pretty good curl definition. I actually wanted less shrinkage in the back where its thicker so I waited a week and went over the back again. I left it on the 2nd time about 5 minutes all together and only in the back. It was almost perfect then. The curl pattern came out a little looser than I would have liked, more of a deep wave than a spiral curl in some places but still curly enough to do what I want and and no straight parts which was my main concern.

My only con:
I have some shedding which I didn't have when I was natural.

My hair hasn't been relaxed in so long and when it was (way before all my LHCF knowledge) it was jacked up so I don't really have anything to compare Phyto to. I honestly think I would have chosen a lye relaxer if it weren't for all the Phyto hype. I don't think my hair really cares for no-lye. I always had no-lye in the past because I liked to dye my hair and wanted to keep that option open, plus I still believed no-lye was safer. I remember having shedding then too but never paid attention, I thought it was normal.

Then again I don't think I would have considered a relaxer at all if it hadn't been for all the Phyto hype.

I'm satisfied though. The shedding is the only thing that had me like ok, index 1 or not, this really is chemical and thou shalt treat it as one!
