Hello everyone. I have a question for the ladies with the texturizers. The question is actually for my sister. Ok, just about 2 months ago, my sister decided to cut all her off and go natural. The thing is she has nice hair (I don't know how to tell what type

), so her hair curls when she add mousse and water. However, she wants to get a tex to loosen her curls. The other day she went to get her hair trimmed and asked her beautican about it, and she was like "NO,NO,NO, your hair doesn't need that" she also said that it may make her hair too straight. But, to me, she does need one. Her curls are tight!
My sister told me to ask "my girls" (she swear I talk about you all like I see you everyday

) what do you all think. Thank you!

How straight it gets depends on how long you leave it in and how strong the texturizer is. If you only leave it in for a little while it shouldn't loosen the curl too much. However, her hair is healthier natural.

I have had a texturizer before and some of my hair DID go straight. She can always take that chance but if anything, I would listen to my beautician. I am sure other ladies who texturize probably have some suggestions about slowing down processing.

I don't know what will happen, but if she does a strand test on various sections of her hair, that will give her some idea on what to expect. The strand test will tell her which strength to use and how long to leave it on each section. Proper relaxer strength and correct timing are very important. I don't use anything to slow down the processing, but I do strand tests from time to time and make sure that I keep my hair as healthy as I can.
