Well, tonight DH and I took on correcting my underprocessed texturizer. We test processed a small section in the back for seven minutes, got results close to what I was looking for, and then kept on, letting it all process for about 10 minutes. My formerly tight type 4A kinks with incredible shrinage are now resembling type 3 curls with substantially less shrinkage and more movement. I am amazed. It's only halfway dry, so we'll have to see.

Now I am pondering retouches - wondering how long I should wait in between and if the processing time for my retouches will be the original underprocessed time plus the corrective processing time, which would equal about 25 minutes. Could that possibly be correct? It seems like a long time.

Congrats, i'm glad it worked out well. When i was underprocessed first the stylist left it on for 5 minutes, at the corrective she left it on an extra 25 minutes to obtain curls, equalling 30 minutes, a good estimate, but i wouldn't depend on that as previously processed hair is weaker and has been chemically processed before hand, its safer to do strand tests to get the near perfect timing.

Hey options, I was wondering how long did you wait between you orginal texturizer and the corrective one? I recently self-relaxed and my hair is underprocessed in the front (looks like it did while natural only amazing curl definition and I wanted to stretch a little more). I'm bit anxious and was wondering once again how long should I wait

It was about a month. Unfortunately, I am now dealing with reversion and debating relaxing my hair more.

That is the problem I'm dealing with. It is so hard to have my hair this way. Thanks to my stinky challenge, it's growing, but I don't know how to style it anymore. :( I'm afraid if I try to correct it, I will be fully relaxed. :cry3:

What did you use to texturize your hair? You won't believe this, but I attempted a corrective last night; I usually use Silk Elements in regular, but this time used it in "coarse," and guess what? It made no bit of a difference!

I woke up looking totally natural. The only difference is that when I flat iron it (I pulled out my Maxiglide in frustration), the texturizer enables me to wear my hair straighter for a longer period of time.

I am beginning to wonder if Silk Elements texturizers are just concocted very mildly.

My hair still seems healthy and I'm not experiencing breakage.

I am in a quandary; I do not know what to do. But I think I might just hang it up and fully relax.

Options, perhaps a relaxer, rather than a texturizer would work better for you. Texturizers are not strong enough to get the results I want for my hair.
