What texturizer do you use, and what is your process- how long do you leave it on, did u do a strand test, is there any smoothing involved or do u just apply....
TIA

My hair is somewhat texturized by using the same regular strength relaxer for just 10 min. (a little less than half the recommended time for my coarse hair). I smooth it also just as instructed. The result is a loosened, not straight, curl.

I used Designer's Touch texturizing relaxer. I did a strand test, and I only left it on for seven minutes. I didn't smooth at all, I put the relaxer on and parted to the next row. I think I'll be using S-curl texturizer or Elasta QP for my next touch up.

i guess i'm texturized i used affirm mild for about 5-7min but i'm not happy likely to do a corrective
on the other hand i used the same affirm mild on nubianqueen 9min and really like what she ended up with no smoothing involved just apply in 4 sections for myself and 2 when i did hers

As I have been texturized since May 2004 I have used a variety of relaxers. Look at my fotki and you'll see :) Anyway what works for me seems to be regular strength relaxers, not mild. I leave on 15-20 mins depending on texture of hair that I'm processing (coarser hair = longer time) and I do some smoothing, right at the end for about 3-4 mins before I wash out relaxer. HTH !! Feel free to PM with specific questions.

I used Phyto index 1 to do my all virgin hair several months ago. I did about 3 strand tests on different parts of my head because I have different textures all over. I smoothed a little bit after I had it all on except on the parts where I have a really loose curl pattern. I did it in 2 sections and I left it on each sections about 10 minutes total.

Sprung on hairboards!!! Your hair is gawgeous!!! I love love love it. Hook us up with some pics man!

I originally texturized my virgin hair with soft and beautiful no lye relaxer for about 12 minutes. I came out very underprocessed (maybe b/c I used that darn pretreatment b/c I read too late that I wasn't supposed to use it).

A few days later, I used roux porosity to condition my hair.

A few days after that...
I put kenra color maintenance conditioner throughout my hair b/c it has protein in it and I wanted to make sure to keep the curl pattern. I also based my scalp with vaseline. I then went through my hair with silk elements mild lye relaxer and smoothed with my fingers all the way down the length. The whole process took about 12 minutes.
