I gotta bite this from wantlonghealthyhair. Before I joined this board I had no IDEA what to do or how to style my hair. I had been totally natural for about a year and a half and I was clueless. Just like back in the day when you were first learning how to do your hair you was lookin like Cousin It? Well...that was me. I just knew eventually the knowledge would come, I just had to hang in there.
Well, one day I stumbled across this board and saw all these beautiful heads of natural hair and I was like FINALLY!!!! An answer! I got all these hair tips, new products to try, recipes, growth aids, and style ideas from all you inspiring gals!!! I just wanted to thank you all for answering my questions and for keeping up with your hair goals and doing what works for you!!!
I can't show you any before pics (might scare ya!) but go check out my album and you can see for yourself that my Cousin It days are over! :p

Girl, I know what you mean. I am a hair board stalker! I know I'm not very good at styling but I'm learning different ways from the board. I will be a professional soon, LOL! If you don't mine me asking, what was the deciding factor that made you go natural?

My hair was actually almost bra strap length. Then for some odd reason I got EXTREAMLY tired of dealing with it. So for about 2 months I wore a scarf and I didn't touch it, not even to comb it. So since I always wanted to go natural I went to my aunts house and told her to cut my hair down to the new growth. Then my non-educated self went and put a texturizer in it and it PERMED one side and waved the other! So I went to the barber shop and told the barber to give me an even low cut. I havent looked back since! I guess I just got sick of dealing with hair and I figured that natural hair would be easier to deal with and it is! I love it, love it, love it!
