Good evening! I have a teenager that is stressing for styles during a stretch. She is trying to grow her hair out but wants cute simple styles to wear in high school until and after she gets her next relaxer (1st of the month). HELP!! I have locs so I'm not much help.

Buns and twistouts are really cute IMO. Especially with some nice earrings and a dab of lip gloss.:)

Braid it up. It's hard (for me) to look "cute" when I stretch my relaxers. I would ussually slap it in a bun and be on my way, but I recently got braids and they worked fine. Just keep them moistruized and you're good. Also lots of co-washes and deep conditionings and she'll be fine. Stretching is a hard process, good luck!

Lets try she wore a pony to school the other day and some teenager of the opposite sex pulled it out! I will suggest the the bun and the braid/twist outs if ya'll (in the Ga) tell me what it is. :p

wow. I'd have had to beat him down for real.

My niece wears really nice cornrows braided in a neat style over her shoulder. She's also gotten the cornrows on the scalp with a phony puff on the top and another variation with coiled pieces that form into a bun. I wish I could find a pic of what I'm talking about. These styles last for about two weeks and are inexpensive to maintain.

Flat twists are always a great option for teenagers. The entire head can be flat-twisted or just the front. The remaining hair can be spiral set, ponytailed, or bunned.

I agree w/these I love flattwist especially w/ the back hair out and curled you can also alternate those flattwist for french braids and leave the back out in a spiral set, ponytail, banana clipped, and/or bunned.

Thank you all so much! I think I will do the flat twist tonight when I get in. Is it better to do them wet or dry. I work two jobs so it will be late when I get to check your answers. Will try to post a pic when I am done. Thanks again!

^^^I like to do mine on dry hair, easier for me to handle the strands and there not as fragile as when wet. I also like to use a little Let's Jam it helps the NG lay down and gives it a serious shine, a little of this stuff goes a long way.
