Hi guys ! :circle:
I make tea rinses twice a week, and suddenly I have a doubt : should I rinse it ? I never do, is it bad ? :bricks:

Thank you for your advice... (and sorry for my poor langage, hope you'll understand me)

What makes you question your approach Marino? What is happening with your hair? In addition to changing your method, do you also need to cut down to one time per week instead of two?

i should say i can't really help you (i don't do tea rinses) but i think telling the board what is happening will enable people to help you more if you need it. the video posted by PP is great tho if that's all you need right now.

good luck :)

Marino I pour it on. And put my DC'er on top of it and then Steam.

I got this from K.I.S.S. At first I was pouring it on letting it sit and rinsing it out. Until I heard her say she was pouring it on and putting her DC'er on top. So, I changed my Method.

yes that video is great, and I understood what I make is not really a "tea rinse" because I dont use "black tea" but only plants : nettle, thyme, hibiscus, rosemary... all good against hairfall, and I thought it was better if I did not rinse it.
I suffer fron androgenetic alopecia and I'm afraid tea not rinsed might suffocate my scalp...

umm..... So.... You're not even using TEA?!? :look:

What the hiccup?

Technically, you don't need black tea to qualify as a tea rinse. :nono: You can make tea by infusing various leaves and flowers. There are 50-11 herbal teas and combinations thereof. Black tea is just one type of tea rinse.

Marino, you are correct in your line of thinking with herbal tea. Black tea can darken the hair (somebody asked that) over time and also acts sort of like protein and can be drying. But, you can certainly choose which "teas" to use depending on the effect you'd like to achieve. I make my herbal tea concoctions like that.

The herbs that you've chosen to make your tea are known to be good for the hair and scalp. How the combination affects your hair should determine if it's too much or not. How does it make your hair feel? I doubt that it would suffocate your scalp because the tea is water-based. But, again, judge by how your hair and scalp are doing.

Some of the teas that I like to use are nettle tea (stimulates the scalp), chamomille tea (has a softening effect on my hair), peppermint tea (another stimulating herb) and african red tea (said to stimulate hair growth). Black tea I wouldn't use often or leave in. I leave it in for awhile and then deep condition afterwards, since it's drying.

Just throwing in my two cents before I jet outta here.

Oh, and your English is fine and we understand you clearly. :yep:

Technically, you are doing a "tea rinse", this is exactly how I do mine, infuse herbs in water, use post dc without rinsing with no ill effects. I also do a tea infusion leave in with some of my fave herbs and use it throughout the week.

I do this too. Makes life so much easier.
I make coffee seperately and make tea with nettle, shave grass and rosemary leave. Pour them together and put it in the fridge. I use it on wash days until I finish the batch. I might add ayurveda tea to this since I have a lot of them left.

Thank you NJoy for your very useful 2cents and for your encouragements about my english...
I think my hair seems to like this rinse (without water rinse after), mostly because of the hibiscus. But as nobody seemed to do the same, I was a bit worried:perplexed, you reassured me. :trampolin
I don't use black tea because I am very sensitive to caffeine.

I like all those little smilies, even if I don't understand them all !

NJoy You are absolutely right.

Njoi Creations has an Herbal Tea Hair Spritz that is a Leave-In and also Qhemet had their Karady Tea Hair Spritz as well as a few other Hair Care Lines, so it can definitely be left in with no worries.:yep:

Before I started doing Black Tea Rinses, I had brewed some Moringa Tea for Shine and I loved it.

I'm glad I've incorporated Tea Rinses into my Regimen. I enjoy doing them. I wouldn't mind trying a Coffee Rinse.....just to see what it's like.

Yeah, i hear the caffeine in coffee (and some teas) promotes growth. Plus, i love the smell of cofee. might try that too.
