I would wet hair and do the hot oil. (I don't know which one you use, but my VO5 is only for 1 minute). If you use an olive oil/honey mixture, I would think that if you steam it, you would probably have it running over your face. So if you want heat, you should probably just cover with a plastic cap.

Then rinse and shampoo. Reconstruct with a protein shampoo. You can steam it if you like provided it's not something natural like egg.If it is then cover with a plastic cap and wrap a towel. Rinse the hair with water and then deep condition with a moisturising conditioner and steam that too for an hour or longer.

Rinse, dry and style.

Bah. I wish I was you, I did my hair today but only had time for a deep condition

I had my hair steamed after I took braids/weave out back in January. My hair was a little dry. The hairdresser put conditioner in my hair and then put a plastic cap over it. I was then placed under a "stam machine"

for about a good 45 minutes. I did not like the way she styled my hair - to me, it was a little too stiff - but - after putting a little Carol's Daughter HHB, it was in *excellent* condition. It had *never* felt so good. I had it done twice - all to the tune of $90 a pop

So, needless to say, I didn't go often.

Is there a place where someone can get a steam machine for the hair? If so, how much is it?

i have 2 steam caps. one is like a bonnet with a clip to hold it in place and you plug it in and it gets very hot, you put the oil in your hair and then put a plastic bag or wrap your hair with seran wrap and then put the cap on top. or i have one that hooks up to a blow dryer and with the air it inflates, i think the other one is better though. or you can also just put the plastic bag on your hair and sit under a dryer but i like the bonnet one the best because it heats up and penetrates into the hair.
