Symptoms of Hair Protein Overload.

I think when your hair is hard/stiff to the touch even after you have thoroghly rinsed and styled your hair. I'm not sure but Sticky Hair Syndrone can be another sign. When you hair fuses together as if there is glue in it. I've gotten that a few times after too much protein conditioning.

I think using a clarifying shampoo followed by a moisturizing conditioner will help here...

Thanks. If it is what you said melodee, then I definitely have this illness.

Yeah I think Vev is right. Karonica, you should just moistuize for the next moth or so, your hair is probably as strong as anything. Lay off the protein, like I'm doing.

And I DO NOT use these all at the same time. It's depending on what I'm doing to my hair.

I wrote NEW! besides all the products that I've recently purchased within that this time frame.

I'm thinking it's the Infusium that could be causing it. I recently switched from using Infusium because I was hearing so many bad stories about it...

How often do you use the gel? Does it contain protein?

I like how you wrote NEW! by the products. I thought I was reading an advertisement for a minute there.

I've been using Infusium about a year, although I stopped about in May or June. I've only used it twice since then. The Pro-Style has protein in it, but I don't use that often either. I think the Fantasia may have a form of protein in it, but I just bought it last week and have only used it once. I'm going to have to go home and look at the ingredients for the Profectiv phase oil, as this could be a culprit, since that's the one I bought in June or July.

I think the Pina Colada has a form of protein in it to, so that could aggravate the problem.

I'll figure it out soon. Thanks Jen.

I think it's the CON personally. I don't think it's protein overload necessarily - because you don't have enough protein in your regime (but it's your hair, so you'd know better than I) to cause it as far as I can see. I think it's more build up of products that are designed to smooth and "moisturize the hair". That can also make the hair brittle and feel like there's glue in it.

There's not enough protein in anything VO5 to aggravate most people's hair. It's a VERY low grade conditioner and the ingredients are not potent or concentrated enough to cause protein overload....

Just my opinion.

It COULD be the Infusium though.

hey karonica --

i'm not really feeling that infusium or cream of nature (i know everyone else loves this). those two products make my hair dry and sticky and just awful

I think it could be the Profective Products.
All of the "strengthening" ones have some form of protein.

Say it ain't so!

I've been using Profectiv going on about 2 years now. The cremes have never been a problem, but that 3 n 1 phase oil does have "strenghthening beads" in them.

Thanks bimbabe.

I'm starting to feel like Inspector Gadget. *dancing to the theme song*

I agree with Tracy.

After using the CON three times, my hair had build up and it felt horrible (dry and straw like) I immediately took it back.
