Switching from No-Lye to Lye. Breakage?

Hey y'all!

Y'all have me convinced. No lye--bad. Lye--good. On my next relaxer I really want to make the switch to Lye. What's the best way to make the switch from an Affirm No lye to a Lye? Will I experience any breakage? Do I need to stick with the same brand?

Hi!

I would definately speak to a professional about this. Go to an experienced hairdresser and have them evaluate the condition of your hair first before making the switch. Some people can do a lye relaxer and some can't. You want to make sure it won't cause breakage!! Good Luck!! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I agree with Pebbles, check with a hairdresser. I did make the switch last Sat. and I must say so far I'm lovin my Lye Relaxer. I decided to go with Motions Oil - Mild.
