I am still surging each and everyday. Still doing my daily co washes and using surge twice a day. I am presently in braids due to so much new growth. I have about 4 inches of new growth and shrinking. My last touch up was Oct 22, 2003. Determine to make my stretch out goal of April 2004. I want to hear about your progress one month into the challenge. One down 11 to go!!!!! Hang in there ladies!!!!!
I just got on the Surge bandwagon. I currently use it once a day for definite, then a second time if i think about it. I really like it so far. I use the spray as well as the Woojee cream. My hair has been holding a set much better since using Surge in place of my regular setting lotion. Also, it couldbe in my head, but my actual hair strands seem to be thicker. I will definitely keep using it.
I'm still Surging 2x a day and following up with some kind of moisturizer at least 1x a day. I have a some progress pics in my hair journal. So far so good.
I fell off slightly, because I didn't want to manipulate my scalp too much...relaxer touchup time...so for the past 5 days or so I didn't surge. But when I do, I do it faithfully, at least once everyday, sometimes twice.
Still Surging...I will be adding updates to my album soon to show the progress. Tommorrow is my 3 month Nappiversary so I will also include some neat developments with Surge, including my conversation with Don Lee the General Manager and one of the scientist at Surge! I will let you all know when the album is unlocked.
OK please let me know when I can go in there Ms Loo. I juss lub lookin at progress pics! You were one of the main reasons I decided to try Surge and I'm very happy I did!
I'm on week of usage, doing the CO washes daily, Surging once a day faithfully. My hair seems thicker and there's a significant change in the breakage, virtually none!
Hey Pookeylou, visited your pics, wow! I'm even more motivated than ever! (Ya'll understand when I post my progress pics, I don't quite have the courage to do so yet)
I'm placing an order to give the Woojee and Motion Lotion a try...
It's my second day with the Surge and I am doing this with my heart in my throat. I henna my hair once a month so I am only surging the scalp twice a day gulp
so far so good. Now is everyone rinsing or condition shampooing or shampooing every single day after you use the Surge. My bottle does not go in to the exact specifics when it comes to Directions. I know we have to adjust to what works for you, but could you ladies be kind enough to tell me who is not doing the daily one and who is. I would really appreciate it so that I do not mess up!
I am being very concientious about the moisturizing and paying very close attention to my scalp skin and hair to avoid dryness from the concentrated protein. Aloe vera is one of the main ingr. and it is a powerful source of proteinn bit to mention the other protein sources. Bonjour
Good luck with the Surge Mahalialee. I'm not a surger so i really have no advice to offer. I just wanted to suggest that maybe you can put your Surge in a squirt bottle. That way, you can concentrate the Surge on your scalp vs. getting any on your hair. Also, I don't know how savvy the Surge people are about the interactions with Surge and Henna, but maybe you can try contacting them. Pookley has their contact info. Good luck, and I wish you 2 inches per month
MAHALIALEE
I have been using surge since October I spray my scalp twice
a day and hair once at night and I have had no problems
with surge.
I just started doing conditioner washes this month so I am
washing three times a week now.
Been using Surge since Jan. everyday twice a day with no bad reactions now that I rinse hair once a day and I have gotten great growth results. Moisturize with my S-curl once a day.
I just started Surge yesterday. I don't know if I am going to do the entire fourteen days because I really need a perm. We will see. I am just unclear about how many times I am suppose to rinse my hair and why?
Well I decided to join the challenge and I brought 2 bottles to the party. After the third day of spraying the scalp 2X daily and following up with my moisturizing trio, Aloe veral gel mixed with pure emu oil, my glycerine based moisturizer and homemade wildgrowth, I am pleased to say so far so good. I will do a full shampoo, avc rinse and deep moistuizing Cathy Howse type conditioner under the heat cap, since I am on that 3 day plan. Then I will rest my hair one day after this because the deep conditioning with the heat cap should be able to tide me over for another day before I begin surging again. I am feeling the product a little as we speak, but I am keeping an active eye on my moisture levels. I am expecting to see very positive results at the end of the 14 days and that includes very noticeable growth. Does anyone "feel" the product working at all? Bonjour.
Have any of you tried pre -mixing the Surge with anything, then applying? For instance, mixing it with some aloe vera gel and applying it to the scalp. That way it's easier to apply. I might just have to try that
I had thought of mixing it but I wanted the Surge to be the first thing on the scalp. I know that emu oil is very moisturizing, a wonderful emulsifier (makes a wonderful creamy base when added to the pure aloe vera gel) and emu oil is something that is used for burns and to prevent scarring by some people and supposedly goes down deep into the transdermal layers, good for pain and a great healing agent, same as aloe vera. Glycerine is a great emulsifier and also absorbs well. I add peppermint to the aloe gel emu oil combo and I can apply this whenever. I am finding that my hair really loves this combo and I only need a minimal amount of oil. If I feel any stiffness, I just smooth some emu oil over the surface. The Gold Activator with silk aminos keeps my hair super moisturized. I am noting that using these products my hair does not feel over coated and full of product buildup, and I can do this layering effect twice a day for three days and it looks so wavy and smooth and I can keep it in a twisted bun or two braids or one braid at the back and I am good to go. I really want to maximize the effectiveness so I layer the effect and then all I have to do is continue to moisturize. All of those products are so moisturizing. My second conditioner is moisturizing as well as stimulating so I am going for the gold. Down the road I may find that I can get away with using less of these and will adjust to suit. If that Surge does not live up to it's claims, I do not want it to be because it was watered down. It would probably work well with aloe gel if it was necessary due to irritation and sensitivity, but otherwise I will try this first and tweak as I go. HTH Bonjour
When I first started using Surge, I noticed that once it dried my hair was a bit drier as well. I cured that my spraying my scalp and hair with my daily mixture of oils right after I Surge. Try this and see what it does for you.
