Super Growth Stimulating Scalp Oil!!!!

Now that winter is around the corner, I need a light scalp oil (or blend of oils) that:

-will stimulate growth
-won't cause nasty buildup
-won't cause dandruff (in fact, will HELP dandruff)
-doesn't stink <--------MAJOR REQUIREMENT! :yep:
-doesn't make hair greasy
-doesn't contain petrolatum, mineral oil, or lanolin

Is this too much to ask? Does an oil like this exist out there? I'm willing to make my own homemade blend, but have never tried it before. From stalking threads, I've gathered there are some essential oils like peppermint and rosemary that do the trick. I've also heard the praises of sulphur and horsetail. But I have no clue how to begin forming my own concoction.

Are there any pre-mixed oils that you can buy that fit the description above?

Any tips ladies? What do u use to oil ur scalp and what does your particular choice do for you?

Thanks!!!

I push hairobics oils hard and the hairobics scalp rejuvenator oil is amazing. Very concentrated and strong so you only need a little bit.

Have no doubts...Kalawentz products are known for their lovely smell. They're very light to the touch too...they liquify easily at hand temp. Tho I'm a Cincinnatian and therefore not unbiased, I recommend these products highly for people who like a more traditional oil product.

I live in Covington and work in Cincinnati. Are there any local BSS that carry this? Or do you buy yours online?

Another local gurl!

Well the Kalawentz store/factory itself is in Kennedy Heights, so if push comes to shove there you are. I've seen it at bbs' around town, usually the Korean type hair stores (I think the one on Gilbert Ave has it), but if you want Black owned, GnS Health Foods carry it. I believe they are now in Madisonville.

i love carols daughter's lisa's hair elixer. i use it on my scalp a coupe times a week because i have notice flakes. im not sure if its dandruff or build up but this keeps it in check. its the only one of her oils i would buy because i dont think the rest are worth it. sometimes i mix it with coconut oil becasue i love coconut oil on my scalp.

I make my own and it is perfect for my scalp problems. I infuse castor+olive oil with rosemary and nettle. Then add some peppermint, tea tree and lavender EO. I make enough for 2-3 months at a time. I love it so much, I have not had a single flake on my scalp since I have been using this.

What have you notice with using either one or these oils?

The Shikakai oil meets all her prerequisites. I use it and so far I like it. I ordered the Hibiscus because it has sulfur in it. Haven't sniffed it yet so I am not sure how it smells but it meets all her other prerequisites. I like them because they have all that ayurvedic growth stuff in them without me having to mix or steep or strain or do anything with powders.

The Hibiscus smells like sweet almond oil & the Shikakai smells like peppermint patty candy.

Happy Hair Growing!

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I think I'll start with the Black & Bossie, and may soon order the Afroveda Hibiscus.

I bought some peppermint and rosemary oils, which I may add to what i purchase.

Thanks!

Also in the nati, picked up a jar of Black and Bossie at Star Wigs on Springfield Pke.
Like the consistency and not too greasy.

Bump!!

Trying to decide between Afroveda Shikakai Hair Elixir and Hairveda Cocasta Oil. Any reviews on either products providing excellent moisture and growth?

These alter ego herb ego drops are stimulating my little scalp right now. But its kinda expensive for a bottle. About $30..but its great!

At Family Dollar they sell Softee Signature growth oil. Smells a little fruity but it does not last after rinsing. I cannot comment on growth from it. I just bought it. I do oil rinses or mix into conditioners.
Ingredients: Soybean oil, meadowfoam seed oil, shea butter extract, capsicum extract, black pepper extract, coffee extract, rosemary extract, safflower oil, wheat germ oil, vit A, vit E, vit D, hops extract, balm mint extract, chomomile extract, yarrow extract, nettle extract, horsetail extract, neutral henna extract, fragrance, red 17, and yellow 11

ETA: this the stimulating version, the growth version doesnt have the shea butter, capsicum, black pepper, or coffee extracts. The growth version has sulfur in it.

What about Motown Girl's Growth mix? Never tried it but the contents such as rosemary and peppermint are stimulants.

I've been waiting for From Nature With Love to stock this mix, but it's always out of stock. I've giving up on it. Wish I knew an alternative source for purchase.
