I like to mix it with either shea butter, avocado butter, castor oil, or amla/vatika oil mix. I put the butter on first then the glycerin. Really helps my ends from snagging and keeps them moist.

I mix mine in a spray bottle with water, castor oil and sometimes hempseed oil.

BUMPING! I've been wanting to use a glycerin mix; but, with my relaxed hair I'm not sure of what to do. I've only used glycerin when I had my Jheri curl...and I loved the way it made my hair feel.

I was wondering where I could purchase glycerin from. I brought a sample size of Dr. Bronner's castille soap last night and found a recipe for dry/damaged hair shampoo and it calls for glycerine(but I did not know where to purchase it from).

i made a really nice spray moisturizer using glycerin and honey. i used 2 parts water, 1/2 part glycerin, and 1/4 part honey. (so a sample recipe would be 1 cup water, 1/4 cup glycerin, and 1/8 cup honey, in case that exp. didn't make sense) it was great to use to moisturize airdried hair.

yes and I follow it with a sealant of castor/coconut oil

ive always gotten mine from the health food store, but ive seen it in drug stores like duane read ect....
the one in the drug store is usually animal glycerin. iv'e never seen the plant based glycerine in the drug store. which is why i buy from the healthfood store.

Eww! Animal Glycerin!?!?! I never heard of that. gross.

If you're an ebay fan, there are a lot of sellers that have soapmaking supplies. They have a variety of oils, butters, glycerin, etc... and you can buy in small quantities like 1oz.

I usually look for a seller who has a store, that way you know they sell in a regular basis and have quality items.
