In another thread I mentioned that I was having this very same problem and I used every protein treatment followed by every great moisturizing deep conditioner only to suffer from tangles and shedding like before. It wasnt until I took the suggestion of someone to CLARIFY. I clarified and followed it by a moisturizing shmpoo and moisturzing conditioner and my tangles and shedding stoped. I still got my touch up a week later to be safe but tht week in between i no longer suffered from the excessive shedding.

Reading your post is what prompted me to start this thread. As I mentioned, I have been having the same exact problem you mentioned in your thread. I am coming up on 12 weeks post and my hair is shedding profusely. Whenever I run the comb through it, I am getting a big clump and it is def. shedding not breaking. I have been keeping it very moisturized and being doing cw every other day. I tried the 2 minute aphogee treatment about 2 weeks ago and it worked for a few days. Then I thought it was shedding so bad b/c i wasn't using enough conditioning products when detangling (after washing)..I was trying so hard to ignore the fact that it was shedding on many other days besides wash day too. What you said about the detangling (new growth and product buildup) makes a lot of sense....
I bought the suave clarifying shampoo after work. I clarified and followed by a moisturizing shampoo. Then I used the aphogee for damaged hair, rinsed it out and sitting under the dryer, then did a deep moisturizing conditioner. Although I still lost some strands during detangling, it's most definitely less than I have been losing in the past week or so, and even less than I usually lose on a regular basis (before my shedding started). I did Sylver's scarf method and I'm sitting under the dryer now....
