One thing I do is I'm careful not to manipulate the new growth too much. I just make sure it's moisturized, and leave it alone.

Yup! That's one reason for me to bun; I don't play with it when it's in a bun. As I get further into my stretch, I cowash more often, wet bun, and leave it in the bun until the next cowash. :yep:

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ABOUT BUNNING AND MOISTURE. I can't cowash because I have a flaky scalp. But one thing that is just so incredibly helpful is to wash twice a weak, using a squirt of shampoo the size of a quarter, but only lathering once. Frequently wetting my hair helps. I also, like others said, don't handle the new growth much. when new growth gets particularly thick, I finger comb instead of using the wide tooth comb, or prior to using the wide tooth comb depending on what's going on!

DC with every wash only the line of demarcation, only comb only in shower. Low manipulation styles.

detangle in sections for serious stretchers...and keep up on your porosity. Especially on the ng. also...frequent cowashing to keep ng moisturized and manageable...and get good products that will keep ur hair moisturized in btwn washes...as well as wet setting after a cowash
