Has any one who had shoulder length hair had success with growing their hair in micro braids. The first time I had them in my hair grew A LOT  . I kept them in for 1 month ½. I oiled my scalp like every other day and never washed. The second time I used a lot of heat on them so my hair broke off. But when I put them in again months later.. Its like my hair was thinner and broke off when I took them out  . I kept them moisturized but I couldn’t wash because when I tried they would fall out. I love them and how they make me look. But they say it is not good for you hair if its about shoulder length or longer to be separated in such tiny sections. I don’t know why it worked the first time and not the last.

Anyone with shoulder length or longer hair had success with micro braids?

personally after what I've been through, I really don't think anyone should ever get micro braids. They are just too stressful on the hair, especially the hair line. I can only speak for myself but after my experience, I will never get micros again.

Well, when I was younger,no one ever saw me without braids....lol, and I did have micros also...They do help you grow your hair, but I agree, they can thin it out, and you have to constantly care for them...People think that micros don't need maintenance, but they do, just like weaves...You have to do them over constantly...mainly the front. And, they won't pull out your hair unless they are braided TOO TIGHT! When you see the white bumps, that is TROUBLE!

Oh, and I love them too! They are very chic, and versatile... You can style them as if they are your own hair!
