Ok, so they reformulated the Almond and Shea. They took out the cone' that is at the top and replaced it. From what I understand they replaced with a better cone'. Also they have a new product that is called blackberry(something) and white tea. Please check their website because I might have that name wrong. Anywho, there is also a leave in conditoner that goes with this new product. This new product is suppose to be comparable to Aveda Color Conserve. If anyone has tried these out yet, please hit us with an review! I'm really excited about this!!!!!!!

****It's called Black Raspberry and White Tea******

Hmmm....maybe I will like the almond and shea now...I did see that they got a new look but I didn't know they reformulated the products

I uses Suave for my co-wash. Is this the shampoo and conditioner?? Wait, so they replaced a cone' with another cone' that is supposed to be better?? To me, cones promote the same results as the next cone'. Do you know the name of the new cone'??
I wonder if they have it at Wal-Mart yet..... :user:<---checking out website...

They replaced cyclopentasiloxane or however its spelled with dimethicone. Cyclopentasiloxane is one of those cones that evaporates. Dimethicone must be washed with sulfates or maybe cocamidopropyl betaine or something like that. That could be good or bad but I doubt it will make a diff in my hair and will probably still suck.

They reformulated humectant too according to an email I got. I going to try out the new leave in the second I find it!

Yeah I believe the new cone is dimethicone. They have the ingredients listed on their site. Now I'm not sure why one cone' is suppose to be better than another cone'. I'm just passing along what I heard. My hair loves the old almond and shea, so I can't wait to see if there is any difference.

I thought dimethicone (or some type of variation of it) was the only cone that could be rinsed out with water.

Taken from: Silicone hair products ingredients phenyl trimethicone, dimethicone copolyol and cyclomethicone
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The most commonly found silicone derivative ingredients are:
• Phenyl Trimethicone - Water resistant silicone, adds shine and
flexibility.
• Dimethicone - A silicone derivative. Adds luster and sheen.
• Dimethicone Copolyol - Same as above and is water soluble.
• Cyclomethicone - A silicone derivative. Adds luster and sheen.

The primary reason for the use of silicone is that it tends to be longer lasting than many natural oils, and works especially well for coarse and/or damaged hair types. The majority of products that use silicone derivatives are intended to add shine and to protect the hair from moisture loss and environmental or styling damage.

I thought the old cone evaporates and leaves the other oils in the conditioner to do its job. My hair hates dimethicone (sp?). I buy my almond and shea at the dollar general in the small bottles. Guess i need to go stock up on the old stuff. Dang

Thank la, glanced right over this post.

I use the 1st version of Suave Almond n Shea Bttr and my hair loves it, so with the new heavier cone it will be great. Blackberry n White tea is heavenly together so I will def. watch out for that! Smells awesome in all the Bath n Body Works formulations
