Thanks for your suggestions!! I think I may go into Zufan for a consult, have you ever been to there before? Also do you know of any good Youtube vids that will help with text/perm? I dont want bone straight though

Yes I've been to her not for a relaxer. My girlfriend goes to her and has for many years. She has a 3 pattern curl but has MBL hair or more. Another girlfriend of mine has also gone to her (as well as many of her family members, who all have long hair). She handles your hair like fine silk ... she use to be a Jazma understudy I believe. I wouldn't say she has LHCF knowledge but she is gentle and careful. A consult would be best so that you can see if what you don't like about Jazma she's not about.

Thanks! I made an appointment for next week.

I had a terrible incident with the Jazma salon a few months a ago...I paid $375 for a jacked up head...I wanted to wait for her *** after work :angry2:

Anyways I hope things work out.

Ok so far I have a week until my appointment....I'm still looking for otther salons as well...

Lebiya, I feel your pain, I truly do. About 2 years ago, I went to Jazma for texturizing and after a few treatments (3 applications) and several hundred dollars, my hair was a mess, hair breaking all over the place. This was after growing my natural hair to shoulder length. Heartbreak city. When the breakage was done, I barely had 3 inch of hair at the front and about 1 inch at the back. I vowed never again and went back to natural hair, joined LHCF and thankfully my hair is now healthy and thriving (1 inch away from APL). I'm self styled but would love to find a T.O. stylist that I can trust for the occassional roller set or blow out or special occasion hairdo. Can you share your impression of Zufan as a stylist/owner and how things work out with your service. TIA.

I've heard so many horror stories about Jazma but I've been going there for over ten years and my hair is MBL lol It probably depends on what stylist they give you. Mine is the bomb.

Jillian's vision of beauty is really good.. she specializes in healthy hair care.. she is really gentle and uses great products.. its on wilson between keele and dufferin.hth..sorry to hear about ur experience.

Thanks ladies :)

hair4today- sure thing will keep everyone informed of my experience after my appointment next week: ) and after I get this texlaxer corrected, I will definitely do everything myself afterwards.

I also think it depends on what you have done in salons as well. If you go for a simple blow-out, style, or have other minor things, you may not run into many problems. But when you get in with chemicals, color treatment and such, that’s when the problems are likely to occur imo. DIY is also best, I wish I could DIM but I don’t have the confidence to for this procedure. Who knows I may still take the plunge. I’m going to search for “ Jillian's vision”. TY Tee

Good. Have you been to her yourself?

Yes, though I do get chemicals. A texturizer every 3 months for the past 8 years. And I know they have a policy where you cant get a texturizer and permanent colour on the same day unless you sign a consent form as my mother ran into that issue last week. I'm sorry you ladies had such a bad experience though. I dont know what I'd do with my Jazma lol

Did you have your appt with Zufan?

Yes it was OK.

I haven’t had a chance to inspect my whole head- its still quite tender and im doing a whole head baggy. I like the results in the sense that she left some texture, but a bit more than I’d like. However, Im aware that it is very difficult to get consistent or desired results at times because each head responds to perms differently. The only disappointment is that she didn’t base my scalp, this is a must for me, but I still agreed to have her do it anyways. I believe my hairline will pay for this because it burned during the process. I won’t go back for this reason, basing your scalp is a must for my tender head.

I would like to get another perm ( in 1 week after I pamper my head) to get it a bit more straighter…I just hate applying chemicals to my head though! I just wish there was another way to get it a bit straighter so it doesn’t dry in a poof. I know I can lay it flat with products but I hate using heavy products.

I wonder if multiple Yogurt treatments would help? I think I may consider this. I don’t want to perm again. But just in case, I’m still looking for somewhere else.

Sorry it wasn't the bomb.com:sad: There is a place in the west end that sounds like they know what they are doing...my girlfriend is going to try them out next week or so. It's called Analysis in Hair I think they have a website.

Sorry Lebiya. I think something is wrong with the mentioning system because I don't see some mentions and I get duplicates sometimes after I mention someone else.

ANYWAY, I answered this question in your previous thread: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=525575

Please read it again, my opinion and referral still stands. Short version, I don't like Jazma and I don't like Azan's. Modern Touch is the best salon I've been to so far, it's in Scarborough Town Centre near Sears. Ask for Naomi and you're all set, she will do EXACTLY what you tell her to do, no questions asked.

when i was still relaxed I went to Azan's in Yorkville and had great experiences. AND they run on time which is always a bonus.
