Im irritated... I booked an appt for a relaxer well over 2 weeks ago. My stylist texts me at 5 am this morning to ask to move my 11 am appt to 9:30 because it works better for her schedule. I woke up at 9:45 to find the message. Mind you I only picked 11 because I couldnt get a later appt. Im sorry but when u work in a service industry (as I do) an appt is an appt! Ive had to wait during breaks in between clients myself. Its the price of doing business!
*end rant*

How unprofessional. :nono: I probably would've just canceled and found somewhere else. If I did go it would be my last appointment.

And this is why Ive always done my own hair when I relaxed. I never depend on anyone to do my hair but myself and my mom. This sucks, OP!

I would be livid over that stupid text. I'm a nice person, but no one wakes me up early in the morning cause I'm not a morning person at all. I hate hearing the phone ring or vibrate, just waking me up out of a good sleep. I'm mad right now after reading the OP lol.

She better learn to plan and contact people days in advance. But yea I'd reply back and cancel that appt. Very unprofessional of her.

Has she done this before? Does she have a track record of being unprofessional? I can think of several reasons why she may have had to rearrange your appointment. It sounds like she did her level best to make you aware as soon as she possibly could.

I wouldn't cancel the appoinment. Just go in at 11 as planned. She will deal with it. If she asks, just say you didn't get the message.

this is disrespectful and unprofessional. any changes that need to made in regards to appointments should be done 24-72 hours in advance unless there is a n emergency. what a lack of regard for your time. go in at your regular time and stated upthread.

I already called her and sent her a message stating that I am on a tight schedule and flying out of town on Friday. I offered to come at a later time that day as she said she has another 5pm appt. Even though I have evening plans. She hasnt called or texted and that was about an hour ago. This is her first time changing appts she usually tries to give me an earlier time when I book the appt. I still think its unprofessional!

I just booked an appt with another salon. Its double the cost but Oh well! As long as they keep my appt running on time and dont screw up my hair!

I don't think changing an appt time is that big of a deal but she should have called you at least 24hrs in advance

I'd be annoyed as well. I think an appointment change the day of needs a call and not a text. If you don't speak to the client, then you need to plan for the original appointment.

My old stylist was great and would always work around my schedule, including opening on Mondays (salon closed) and doing my hair at midnight before I had to fly out the next day. I am still upset that she retired and moved out of state.

Rude. She agreed on 11 weeks ago so she should've planned around it unless it was an emergency. And to text you the morning of? Just no.
