does having your head itch mean = dirty hair time to wash? its not dry, i put oil last night and since its been itching.

This is not a stupid question.
An itchy scalp can be the result of dry skin, allergies to ingredients, product build up, and far less common, a medical condition.
Oil is used to SEAL IN moisture, not to moisturize. Perhaps your scalp was dry (as in, needed water) and the oil is sealing that moisture out? Generally, I like to spritz my scalp before adding oil to be sure that I'm addressing the problem and not adding to it.
Is your scalp dry frequently? Then I would suggest drinking more water, herbal teas, etc to hydrate your skin from the inside out. I would also refrain from frequently using conditioners and shampoo directly on the scalp until you find a balance that works for you. Lastly, I would spritz with water and seal with a light oil.

thanks ! indeed you are right ladies. im not doing it right.
my last wash was 1 week ago ( i straightended) so i dont put water to moisturize this week, as a natural putting water will just make the hair puff out. so ive been moisturizing my ends a bit.but noy the scalp. and i added oil to the scalp WITHOUT moistirising it.
and i have been drinking less water than usual. thanks for giving me these informations !!

I agree with the other ladies. I would chime in that you may be allergic to the oil too. I'm allergic to carrot oil. Makes me itch like CRAZY!
Oil can be pore clogging. Most people don't need to oil their scalp.
