Stringy Hair

I am not sure If anyone ever experienced this before or even know what I mean but its when u have random stringy feeling hair. I would post pics but i have plaits in now! Does anyone know the cause? Should I clip my ends once I take the plaits out or leave it alone?

I get that sometimes. My hair will randomly look and feel thin (or more thin than usual) and stringy. Like I lost half my hair overnight or something.
Usually, a good clarifying shampoo followed up by a moisturizing deep condition fixes it for me.
